1. I like the new navigation stuff, but can the previous scroll used too?
Yes. Open the “editor profile properties” from the view menu, and insert a “scrollbar” region where you want it.
2. The “marker” part of the timeline ruler taking up unnecessary space (not much, maybe an inch, but still) , could it be switched off with a button?
3. The new navigation stuff should be switchable too, cause theres not much space to look at the arrangement.
You can achieve that by setting up multiple editor profiles. You can create a copy of the default arrangement profile, and remove the navigator, marker, tempo, mixer, embedded editor, etc. to have a profile that uses the maximum space for the tracks region. You can then switch between the profiles using the view menu, or the F8/Shift+F8 shortcut keys.
4. Lot of empty space at the top of the arrangement section (!) , maybe there would be space for hotbuttons to customize the interface? It would enable fast switching :).
For example a button to on/off the new navigation section, on/off the scrollbars, show/hide the mixer instead of dragging etc… Would make life so much faster!
I assume you mean the right part of the toolbar. You can configure the toolbar and add/remove any controls you want. I could add shortcut buttons for switching between the editor profiles. That would in effect give you the buttons you want.

Podium, when receiving a MIDI signal, usually flashes on the sidebar, but I got no flashes.
That only flashes when receiving/sending via the MIDI interfaces. Not plugins.
Is there another plugin I can try, or something I forgot to do to try this out for you?
Well, it’s kind of funny, but LiquidProj3ct reported this exact feature as a problem in the latest 2.17 release topic. He is using Poise, so I guess you could try that too 😉

I know a lot of my post above was suggestions, but can I get a response on the creation of .mini files for previewing in Podium? And if it does, could you explain why you chose to do that? I just wonder if it’s necessary. There are some out there like me that are finicky with what goes in folders without them knowing. 🙂
I have grabbed a shortcut to this topic, and I’ll get back to examining this once I have finished the current feature I’m working on. Hopefully within a week.
ZynewaveKeymasterI’m not familiar with eXT2, but maybe you could ask on the eXT2 forum or check the eXT2 documentation to see if there is a way to route the MIDI output of the arp to the eXT2 plugin output. Perhaps using its modular routing feature.

Hmmm… I might be onto a bug then, because nothing gets recorded upon enabling record mode.
I can only hear audio coming from eXT2, but no MIDI gets recorded into that Podium track.
The version I’m using is 2.14 Demo. Odd!Is the arp you referred to built into eXT2? In that case, are you sure that the eXT2 plugin outputs the MIDI notes from the arp?

I want to record a plugin output straight to the track,
in this case arpeggiator’s MIDI output, so that I can then experiment
to my heart’s content with what comes out 🙂I wanted to avoid any heavy third party software to workaround it,
but if that’s the only way, then I probably have no choice? That should be possible in Podium. If your Arp plugin is configured as an instrument (“Device is an instrument” option in Device Mapping properties), then if you record enable the plugin track and start recording, any MIDI notes output by the plugin should be recorded on the track.

There must be some MIDI loopback occurring. Podium will not record MIDI notes that it is playing, unless the receiving device sends back the same MIDI notes to Podium. What drum device are you using?
mmmmmmmh :-k that’s true…. i’m using Poise, should I contact to One Small Clue then?
Check the Poise documentation or ask OSC if there is a way to disable MIDI output of incoming MIDI input.

I see, that’s fine. Just thought, Windows explorer seems to do it without any noticable delay.
But I’m no programmer, so I’ll trust you on that. 😉The windows explorer only shows files for one folder at a time. The Podium browser combines the folder and file views into one big tree list, and so can show files in multiple open folders at the same time.
Besides that, I think the dimmed folder icons are a useful indication of what folders you have not yet browsed in your search for that rare sound file.

i have faith on this program so much, that i decide to order copy! So say hello to new customer 😆
Thanks, and welcome.
1. Easy sidechain. Cause i make trance, its hard to live without it.
Remember to check out the sidechain tutorials on the wiki:
http://www.zynewave.com/wiki/doku.php?id=tutorials:index2. Pianoroll tool. “One in all” i’m satisfied on that “selectiontool” however, i would love to use it strech too, without that alt click
So, you prefer not to use the keyboard at all when editing notes?
3. Proper mixer view. Now its just messy, its need to be more cleary. And that drag and drop for move effect, not copy. Also drag and drop to mixer chanel to other mixer chanell would be great!
I hope to get back to mixer improvements later this year. The drag&drop of effect tracks is coming soon I hope.

Thanks Frits, two good updates!
I’d like point a small bad behaviour, when you move the navigator focus part of the navigator isn’t used at all!
The reason the bottom part is empty, is because I limit the height of an individual track to 5 pixels. It would be difficult to distinguish the tracks otherwise. Once you start adding more tracks to your arrangement, the navigator will soon fill up.

1- Besides the size, it’d be nice to see other audio file properties as well. Bit depth, sample rate, maybe even length.

Q: Why are folders that haven’t been opened (yet) shown differently? It’s more apparent with dark color schemes.

That indicates that the contents of the folder has not yet been viewed (and thus it is still unknown if the folder is empty). It would take too long if Podium should search the files in all subfolders shown in the browser.
ZynewaveKeymasterHi moikkelis,
Thanks for the feedback and suggestions. And thanks to thcilnnahoj for answering most of your questions :). If you still have unanswered questions, just let me know.
ZynewaveKeymasterI need to transmit arpeggio notes from VSTi down to MIDI
What do you want to control with the MIDI output of the arp?
If it just needs to control another VSTi on the same chain, then I suppose there are many modular chainer plugins that can do the job. eXT comes to mind.
