Good idea, at least in the mixer. The pan setting is not included in the group panel because of space considerations. The place where you’ve drawn the panner is where the send dials are placed on bus send tracks.

issue is solved. Encouraged by your feedback, I could
isolate a plugin, that itself was scanned without problem, but
which finally caused all subsequent plugins to crash with
    Podium.

Glad to hear the problem is solved. Just curious, what was the problematic plugin?

Tracks within a group can be either minimized (collapsed) or hidden completely. Pressing G will expand/collapse, while pressing Ctrl+G will expand/hide the tracks completely. Likewise, clicking the +/- button will expand/collapse, and Ctrl+Clicking the button will expand/hide. Hiding tracks has so far only been implemented in the tracks region, while the mixer would show hidden tracks as collapsed. The mixer now hides the strips completely if the group is hidden, so the behaviour is consistent between the tracks region and the mixer.

    What is ZGrid or ZMaster?

They are plugins and only exists as ideas so far. zGrid is a sort of wrapper which allows multiple plugins to be routed in parallel/serial, providing a means to have multiple plugins on one track. zMaster is a plugin that would have mono/stereo switch, dithering, limiter, etc.

what about a simple function like ctrl+g like in the sequencer view. Where everything is hidden below the track you press ctrl+g on

The “hide tracks in group” option now also hides the mixer strips. Works nicely. Provides greater consistency between the tracks region and the mixer.

I don’t think this is something that should be built into the Podium mixer. M/S processing could be implemented in zGrid or zMaster.

    Hi Juergen,

There is no limit on the number of plugins that can be imported. I just checked, and I could import all my 250 plugins.

Little beyond 100 plugins, all further plugins fail during loading.

Fail in what way? Does the “illegal action” dialog appear?

If I cancel the scan at the beginning, each of those
    “failing” plugins can be loaded.

I’m assuming you mean you can import those plugins separately afterwards.

I’m guessing the problem comes from one of the plugins that is imported before the remaning plugins start to fail. Try to see what plugin(s) is imported before the scan starts failing, and skip that plugin in the import.

there was a red circle on the mixer saying there was no master.

Hmm. Something have been messed up. Please email me your project file (without the sound files) and I can tell you what’s wrong.

on my master track in the default arrangement there is no sound event. only on the tracks i have recorded?

Then just double-click and drag to draw in a new sound. It should stretch the entire length of your arrangement. If the master track does not have the B button, then open the track properties dialog and enable the bounce mode. When this is set up, just try to press Ctrl+B to try it out. I think that will help with understanding how bouncing works.

should i wrap my 17 tracks to a group track?

No. You don’t have to record and bounce enable each bounce track as shown in the video. That is only if you have several bounce tracks in your arrangement and want to bounce them all at the same time.

If you used the default arrangement as base for your arrangement, your master track is already bounce enabled (B button shown in the track header) and there is a sound event on the master track, right?

When you want to do a mixdown of your arrangement, you just press Ctrl+B or Ctrl+Click the B button on the master track. This will render your entire arrangement into the sound on the master track. No need to select individual tracks that you want to include in the render.

the video is well done but does not at all address showing a 14 or 22 track tune being mixed down to a stereo track. or….did i watch the wrong video?

The principle and procedure of bouncing a plugin track and bouncing the master output is exactly the same. You can insert bounce tracks anywhere in the hiearchy. For the final mixdown of your arrangement you bounce record on the topmost track, which is the master out track.

“Bouncing the master out track” means capturing what goes out to the audio outputs and recording it to the stereo sound on the master out track. So it’s the same thing.

Check out the wiki videos to see how bouncing works.

i usually bounce to a stereo track my first mix or two before my final mix. this does not create any problems in Podium does it….mixing a total tune to a stereo track instead of the master?

Not sure what you mean here. The sound on the master track is a standard stereo wav file.

Open the track properties dialog, and select the “enable audio mixing” option.
