If it happens again, please save the project file and email it to me. I may be able to see if the problem is related to how the tracks/plugins are assigned.
No. Time-stretching is not yeat implemented in Podium. The closest you can get with the current Podium version, is the “beat slice” edit command. That will allow you to change the tempo of the arrangement, and have the chopped up loop follow along.
all of sudden the power meter to track 1 (which had midi data) spiked and stayed red
I assume you then refer to the level dB meter on the track header, and not the CPU usage indicator in the transport toolbar. If the level meter is red, it means the output on the track is clipping. If the CPU indicator isn’t spiking, then I can’t see why it should not play audio, especially if you muted the clipping track.
What plugins did you have on track1? Was it anything related to the Effectix plugin you inserted on track4?
I don’t think you’ve missed anything.
I’ll address this in a future update. One solution could be to store the vertical zoom setting for each sequence object, like it is done for arrangements. A simpler solution could be to make the editor automatically scroll the notes into view, when a new sequence object is opened in the editor.
Yes, if you have assigned a VST instrument on the track to play the MIDI data. Just bounce render the track, using the Track/Bounce/Render menu command. That will overlay the rendered audio on top of the VSTi track. With the B button you can then swap back and forth between playback of the rendered audio or the actual VSTi MIDI track. Use the “Track/Bounce/Move bounced audio to new track” if you prefer to edit the rendered audio as a normal audio track.
Does it happen with other synths than FM heaven?
I assume you’re using the full version of FM heaven. Sometimes plugin demo versions don’t allow storing presets in the host.
You’re welcome to email me the project file, and I can then check if it is a problem with the preset assignments on the tracks.

Should I prepare a video? It’s easy to reproduce, though.
I’ll get back to you about that, once I find time to test this.

p.s. you are giving this away at 50.00 it’s easily worth 5 times that! i will continue to purchase updates.
Thanks Carl.
I agree that 50$ is very cheap considering the amount of work I’ve put into this program. The price reflects that, when compared to other DAW programs on the market, there are still some features missing in Podium and that it doesn’t come with a large collection of bundled plugins. Once I improve those areas, the price is likely to go up.
Right-click the track you want to automate, and use the “automate parameter” submenu. That is one way to create a parameter track. Another way is to use the “param” list in the track inspector, and double click the parameter in the list that you want to automate.
Once a parameter track is created, it should have a curve sequence placed on the timeline already. If not, use the pencil tool or double-click on the timeline area of the parameter track.
No need to reinstall. You may have accidentally deleted the piano roll editor profile. To restore the default editors, use the “restore default editor profiles” command in the setup menu. That may also explain why you couldn’t edit curve sequences, as you mentioned in another topic.
There’s a brief explanation of automation here:
http://www.zynewave.com/wiki/doku.php?id=guide:getting_started#automating_parameters
In this screenshot you can see that there are automation track lanes, and also parameter faders in the mixer. The events that are placed on the automation lane are curve sequence events. On this lane you can move/copy/slice etc. the curve sequences. To edit the actual curve you need to open the curve editor. Select a curve sequence event, and then click the “Editor” profile button above the transport toolbar. That should show the selected curve sequence in the editor, and it is here that you edit the point events that define the curve.
If you still encounter problems, then describe how far you are getting compared to the page I linked to above.

page 13 of the manual the medis browser is at the bottom left mine is top left.
You mean this screenshot?
http://www.zynewave.com/wiki/doku.php?id=guide:getting_started#setting_up_tracks
That shows the track inspector, and not the browser. The lists you see in the inspector can be used as shortcuts for assigning inputs, devices, presets and parameters to tracks. The inspector does not show files.
Does it change behaviour if you toggle the “link edit cursor to play cursor” mode?
Confirmed. It seems like a bug. I’ll look at it before the 2.28 release.
This feature has as far as I can remember never been discussed, so it is not part of my plans. There are “zoom snapshots” but that is a different thing.
Note that you can duplicate an arrangement with the “new phantom copy” right-click command in the “arrangements & sounds” listbox. The new copy will share the same sounds/sequences from the original arrangement, but further changes you make to the arrangement timeline will not be mirrored in the other arrangement.
