That’s weird, Lion…in this post, http://www.zynewave.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2484&start=0&postdays=0&postorder=asc&highlight=
that was the problem I had…I think. You responded in that post, but I thought maybe you have a beta of 2.39 running? Or is it a different problem?
Thanks for the link, Thcilnnahoj. I recall reading it when it came out, but needed reminding…the tool per mouse button idea is interesting, as I use Opera browser, which uses combos of mouse buttons. Like if you hold the LMB and click the RMB once, it advances one page. Hold the RMB and click the LMB once, it goes back a page. There are also uses for the MMB, by itself as well as in combination with the RMB. These may sound convoluted to some, but you get used to it very quickly, and surfing is that much faster. Dunno what hosts have mouse button combos but it would be spiffy for whatever purpose, no?
Hi Accordo, and welcome! You picked a good one here, hope you stick with it…it’s worth it.
As for more mouse functions, I’m not sure what is to happen there. Frits said recently that customizable keyboard shortcuts are on his future list, and I’m not sure if that includes mouse options. As it stands now, your left hand will end up on the keyboard for certain shortcuts regardless. I’ve deleted the shortcut buttons for main screen, piano roll, mixer etc. to save space, so now I use the keyboard more, but that was my choice. By the way, you mentioned liking the customizations – yes, they’re great, and you have much more freedom in tweaking than other hosts. One of the many great things about Podium. Have a good day-
+1. I don’t have a MIDI keyboard right now, and using the computer keys can be clumsy…not the best option for playing something live, I know, but this would be good for butterfinger situations like that-
Is this suitable?

I’ve used this for a while now, until I get the moolah for some M-Audio keyboard this will do. I have version 1.3, the free one. You can set a shortcut to switch between Tracktionkeys and Podium. Good luck—
I’m not sure what he has in mind for this…it’s been suggested before, and I’m sure it’s a big task. It would be nice though. I’m getting used to the shortcuts pretty alright, but a few tweaks here and there would help. Either way’s OK with me. We’ll see-
Works fine here, both the midi interface settings and the input selector settings. Thanks man-
I forgot to mention that the midi in the input selector gets reset to off when I reopen, and the auto-assign to focus track is turned off too. I assume its related. Thanks-
Thank you kindly!
Like I said, I’d wager that he forgot to post it. PM him if it takes too long or if he doesn’t see this message.
Oh, yeah, it’s cool Infinitoar. Believe me, I’ve thought aplenty about learning programming and helping him out too. It’s rocket science to me though!
That would be Frits’s baby there…not to speak for him, but I’d wager he just forgot to post it.
The free version is updated as the paid version is, except it’s two versions behind. 2.38 paid was just released, as was 2.36 free.
You might want to check with Frits before you do any coding, as it’s his product and all. Have a good day-
A smashing good update, sir! Now the font freak in me has to refrain from going off and using blade runner font, or dukes of hazzard/hobo font(gulp).
Thanks for mentioning Raspier, Infinitoar! Here’s a link to a most awesome subtractive vst synth, the Abakos: http://www.hercsmusicsystems.com/old_index.html
It’s an underappreciated gem, something I stumbled upon one day accidentally. The pro version isn’t available anymore, but the free one will more than suffice. Good day one and all
