Can you do it, please ?
Any combination key that you want…
Multiple MIDI and sound files can be dropped onto tracks in a single drag operation. Each file will be placed on a separate track.
Nice !
But PLEASE, add an option, a dialog box or a modifier key to allow to put all the files on the same track.
No, it is not related to this :
Draw a volume enveloppe or a plugin automation, mute the track during playing, unmute it : all the enveloppes are ignored…
You have to stop and restart playing.
Look at the explorer view of “favorites” in Firefox : you can put someting IN a folder when you drop it ON it, above or below when you drop it above/below, and open a folder when the mouse stays 2 seconds above a folder.
All of this can be possible without any modifier key.
That is said, the current way it works in Podium doesn’t disturb me. It is not very important.
Of course making things like this optional (if it was easy to implement for Frits) would please all
Of course…….
I like the current behaviour (if indeed it is critical for gapless playback)
If I have understood, for gapeless playback only at the moment where you unmute a track…
But as I have reported it several times, there is a bug that makes that the volume enveloppe (and others track automations) is not taken in count when you unmute the track, so you have to stop the play when you unmute… a big gap 😉
Of course, you can have no enveloppe…
If there was one FR I would add from my (long list) it would be the almost mythical ZGrid. When Frits does get round to that, Podium will shift up a few more gears in a real hurry IMO.
Of course, ZGrid and Timestretch…
But I’ve written only here adjustements of existing features that will make life better for some of us, not the new ones that we are waiting for 😉
Come to think of it I think Frits said something about it being necessary for gapless playback.
Yes, streaming of muted tracks will allow for unmuting without delay.
But a little delay when unmuting would be far more preferable in most cases than wasting hard disc bandwith with muted tracks.
A preference option would make everybody pleased.
One very good solution is to use Vegas to play the video and to synchronize it with Podium with internal MTC.
It works very well (Podium to Vegas only), but I don’t remember what happend with the Vegas trial version after 30 days, if you can continue to play but cannot save (not a problem), or if it doesn’t run anymore.
I don’t know other video players that can be synced by MIDI.
Midivid can be useful but not to play and synchronize a full movie.

Frits, please consider these changes or maybe as options. If most of your users are from other apps I can’t imagine I am the only one noticing these things.
No, you’re not 😉
More options in Preferences and custom keyboard and mouse shortcut will help a lot… in the future.
It is actually one of the very good points in Reaper : you can use it like YOU want (in the limits of what it can do !).
Actually, you have to use Podium according to Frits feeling, which is not bad, but which might not be accurate for everybody.
When we make a lot of audio editing, yes, there is yet some restricting behaviours that make it a little less pleasant and efficient to use that it could be, but it has already progressed A LOT during the last year !
When I think how I have had to work last year without a keystroke to split, fades, events handles, groups and mute events, I am really VERY happy withy the current version !!!
Be patient…
I think that the two behaviours are not contradictory.
We can single click in an empty area to move the play cursor, and the marquee selection occurs only when draging.
Perhaps that an option in the preferences could activate it or not ?
(I also prefer to click in the track area…)
Yes, of course… thanks
Perhaps that some days there will be a “Save” button together with the “Load” ?
When you move an event away from another crossfaded event, I assume you want the fade in/out on both events to be reset? (not just the selected/moved event).
Yes of course.
Thanks in advance 🙂
Please Frits, can you :
– reset the fades when two events doesn’t overlap anymore !
– option to snap to the edges of events.
Any chance ???
I think that we don’t speak about the same thing (or my english is worst than I thought !).
I don’t speak about the values that must be sent BEFORE the recording starts, but about the values that ARE recorded and that doesn’t follow the knob movements at the begining.
Look at this :
In the first curve it must be a linear movement from 50 to 100.
Result : it begins by 0, jumps very fast to the good value and starts to record the following ones, but after 1/4 of second it jumps to the min value (the knob too !) and I have to continue the gesture from the “new” value.
The two other curves come from another plugin (RaySpace) which has a very slow GUI refresh rate. The values must have gone from top to bottom for the first one, and must have started about 80 for the second.
Result : the two curves are wrong and I have to redraw them by hand.
With plugins which have no GUI or when it is very simple, it is less annoying, because we get only the first jump from the default value to the current value (like at the begining of the first curve).

Concerning which values must be sent between curve sequences, it is another storry.
My preference, as I have told you one year or two, is to keep the last previous value in the same track, like with MIDI in standard sequencers.
The best would have to have an option :
– use default value
– use last previous value on track
– use current plugin value
It is always the best when the user have the choice 😉
