I’ve added it to my notepad, but it will have to wait until after I look at optimizing disk streaming.
Agree for disk streaming !

So, is there also a chance to have an option to start / stop with double click and jump position with a single click like in all other softwares ?I’ll consider changing it.
Nice 😛
OK
Frits,
Correct. Resizing the start position requires that the event is reordered in the event list, so that will require a slightly different implementation. That will appear in a later release.
Is there a chance to see this correction soon ?
It is really a pain to have to stop and replay when resizing and moving sequences !
Realtime editing is no more a luxe today…
Is the current implementation also the cause for not being able to change the play position with a single clic in the timeline ?
So, is there also a chance to have an option to start / stop with double click and jump position with a single click like in all other softwares ?
Thanks…
So a new option in the edit menu with “select all from cursor” will be a great relief !
Allways !
In the arrangement I make only non destructive editing, split, resize etc.
It is only phantom copies of the sound datas but must be “real copies” of the sequences like in other DAWs.
The name is not stored as part of the sequence event.
So it would require a specific “event name” ?
I think that the concept of real copies / phantom copies is not very relevant for audio sequences since in general we make destructive editing, and export of segments, in the sound editor window.
An option to turn an audio sequence into a new sound could be usefull in some cases, but for me, and it is how other softwares do, the arrangement must be non destructive but with sequences parameters.
I suppose that it is how it will work for fades and events volume ???
For example, if I make a (phantom) copy of an audio event I will be able to set different fades and volumes for each one witout having to copy the sound datas ?
No !
Excuse me if explain badly…
When we split a long file in different sequences, it is very usefull to give different names to distinguish them, like for other kinds of sequences, MIDI or envelopes.
This doesn’t mean saving the sounds, only give names to the audio events in the arrangement, not the sounds themselves.
It is an ordinary method when making audio editing.
I can do without it, it is just in the case…
After seeing Frits work with the first two zplugs a zCompressor would be absolutely great.
Yes… but I hope after having completed some of the more awaited basic features of Podium like fades, audio events volume, link of automation sequences or grouping ! 😉
I join my voice to sing Frits’ praises !
What I do in Podium couldn’t simply be done if it doesn’t exist…
I use also an Intuos.
I’ve bought it for MIDITab, but in fact I use it mainly with Podium.:D
I do a lot of editing in the Sound Editor window, and Podium has the more precise and fast waveform edition with the stylus, for me far better than in SoundForge or Nuendo.
I have mapped some key combinations to the buttons of the Tablet so I don’t have to deal anymore with the multiple Alt / Ctrl / Shift modifiers keys ! Phew…
And the ribbon replaces the mouse wheel + Ctrl + Alt for the horizontal zoom : wonderful !
I only regret that I can’t really use the XY zoom because of the inverted horizontal zoom direction (from right to left instead of from left to right). It would be terrific !
Yeah !!
Thank you a lot Frits !
Do you think that a non destructive way to give a name to an audio event will be possible at some point ?
That is to say that the “Sound Name” option in the sound properties box give a name to the instance of the sound instead of the file ?
No problem, the same for me, it was just some remark after a first try.
Most of the great reverbs have far less parameters than the zReverb since the modelisation room is in general hidden, and the automation of parameters is also often less clean with more CPU usage !
Very impressive.
I will be very happy when there will be a multichannel version 😛 in a late future. A little revolution…
Hi,
At first glance, it sounds nice.
I have tried a little with very different sources and the results are consistant.
The automation of the sources and mic positions gives very interesting results !
An option for two distinct microphones instead of a XY couple will be also usefull.
I have just tried also to run it in EnergyXT without the gui : the presets are well recalled but the sliders don’t make any change in the sound and the values are fixed.
Great job…
If you want it to behave like you describe, then I should modify the “export segment” command to store the user-supplied filename as the name inside the wav file, instead of the name of the sound object?
Yes.
Much more logical and less time consuming.
Perhaps is there some case where it may have some interest that the imported sounds have not the name of the files, but I don’t see anything actually.
Especially it is necessary to rename the sounds to identify them, and we have also to save them after renaming…
But a possibility to change the names of the audio events in the arrangement in a non destructive manner will be nice for the future.
Thanks.
So ?
Ok, it is because I changed them inside the Properties dialog.
If I have understood, in this way we change the name of the plugin patch but not the name of the preset ?
But in the Track menu, it is “Edit Program Name” to name the Preset ?
It’s a little bit disturbing behaviour, and I just have to get used to see different names when the engine is on or off and use the Name button.
But would it be possible to have an option to show only the “real presets” names in the explorer and on the track map when the engine is off ?
As I understand it, the latest version that Conquistador and I tested was working fine for Acousmod on his HT system. He just needed verification that it also worked on dual core systems.
Exact, thanks !
