I’m working on something I hope to have ready within a month. I’ll post in the VIP lounge for opinions in a week or so.
Thats good news Frits. Looking forward to it. 🙂

Podium is way too cheap. Or at least it think so 🙂
I can’t disagree with that. Considering the effort I have put into Podium development, selling a license for $50 is ridiculously low, compared to for example the prices of some commercial VST plugins. But I have to adjust my prices to competitors in the host market, and there are many that are priced below $100.
Yep.
That is pretty much it. Its not the value of Podium that is reflected in the price but the market it competes in. I can only imagine how much money a developer of an app like Podium should really be making for the Professional Development, Programming, Graphic design skills, internal testing, Support e.t.c that go into each release.
Likely ***far*** more than the $50 asking fee for Podium. But competing products are most certainly driving the price down. Some creative marketing might help. Plenty of info and feedback in the VIP.
Might be worth looking at some of those VIP Marketing related threads again Frits. :-k

Did I mention I also love their GUIs…? Happiness is a warm (hot!) plug-in bundle. 😛
Probably the main draw for me with Fabfilter plugs. You can have so many features in one host or plug but if accessing it all is a hassle I would go with a much easier interface any day that offers less features if need be, as I would get much more out of it anyway.
Thankfully the FabFilter plugs have exceptional GUI’s and very powerful features. 🙂

Heh, if you hadn’t posted it already, I would’ve done this time around! 🙂
This one I couldn’t pass up… having fun with them in Podium right now! :D/
I am sure many missed out on the deal even with the incredible speed at which information can travel on the web but in any case for those that do have the plugs they are pretty slick!
I suppose I may sell them if the price is right but frankly they are plugs I have tracked (Volcano and Timeless in particular) for some time now…so maybe not just yet 😛
For now anyway they are a very welcome addition to my plugin collection at an amazing price.

It’s a really great time to be starting out: all these great packages for next to no money (that includes podium which dropped it’s price by 50% too)
Indeed. 8)

Interesting that the report is from namm ’08 around 18 months ago, and there is nothing on the PSP site about it.
Strange indeed. I guess they hit a snag with the development. Nitro is fun but surely also a very complex plugin under the hood. Any improvement on Nitro v.1 must be very time consuming to pull off. Maybe the development of the new plug is back on track now. :-k

This is weird thing. If i try to hold vst or vsti knobs down long time, podium seems to like refresh graphic view and then it automaticly close my vst. Holding down mouse 1 more than 4 seconds this will happen. Its kinda hard to finetune knobs when this happen 🙁
I dont rly know what this is. It’s acting like it refreshing something. Has anyone else have this kinda behaviour?
I was hoping it was just my set up but I have had the exact same problemwith Stylus RMX. Some older plugins have the same issue (Fish Fillets e.t.c) on Vista x86 and x64. I think the PSP Mix Pack also had the same issue in Podium.
With 2.18 I still get the screen shift problem described in that link. 🙁

I’m in, thanks you Conquistador 🙂
Have fun…almost 200 presets to play with and manipulate into new presets… 🙂
Well I did vote no as well. Frits can make some really quick implementations based on user feedback. But I think he sensibly tries to keep things focused for each release and already has a long term view as to what will be going into Podium over the next 3 – 9 months or more. He already has a very good idea as to what he will be doing for quite a few months yet.
I think he has done a fantastic job of balancing user FR’s with his own view of what Podium should be. A really great job so far I must say.
Some flexibility for change is built into that plan (based on my own experience with FR’s here) but simplifying Sidechaining in Podium while welcome, is not for most people here the most important thing for 2.19 or even 2.20 e.t.c
That does not of course mean your opinion is not as valid as anyone here moikkelis, just saying that it’s very unlikely to be a main priority for most PDM owners here.
I personally have a long list of things (all my current FR’s in one place) that I would like to see in Podium before a more simplified form of sidechaining is offered.
There are currently 3 different types of Sidechain Tutorials to read up on while you wait for an easier way to sidechain (you can always save your side chain set up as a track template so no need to repeat the effort every time).
Got my activation key today
New version???
Looks like a new version of Nitro is not too far off…
“They also pre-announced a new plug-in, PSP N20 (pronounced “en two oh”) — “N” as in “Nitro”, PSP’s multimode filter plug-in. “
Scroll down the page here look for PSP Audioware to see a bit more info on it.
There is so much mileage in this current version as is. It’s a bri…lli…ant plugin. Not sure what else can be added to it. $9.99 is a superb deal either way 8)
Check your PM… 😉

Ahh, too bad. Thanks for testing. I googled around for the error description, but I could not find clues for what needs to be fixed. I have removed the x64 test download. I will have to postpone further development of the x64 version until I get a x64 Windows platform that I can debug on. Hopefully by November it will be possible to order a Dell PC with Win7 x64 preinstalled.
Cool. Full marks for your efforts Frits. At least you tried. 🙂

This is an important step in Podium evolution (i think it’s too soon although). I cannot test x64 version 😥 in one or two years I hope do it
I think the way Frits has approached the 2.18 beta is the best way IMO. He knows that there are not that many of us who have x64 set ups, indeed maybe just a few of us so far excluding himself even for now as the dev, but wisely IMO he is at least making an x64 version available for testing for those of us who have an x64 system to test with.
Its definitely an important addition to Podium but I don’t think it will take any significant time away from the x86 versions development. I guess once Windows 7 arrives on October the 22nd…some time after that Frits will get an x64 copy.
In any case it’s an Alpha that has been released suggesting it is still early days for the x64 version. The 2.18 x86 version is already ahead of it at the Beta stage already. 😉
My initial results with the x64 version bear this out and as Frits said it may very well crash well…it did. 🙂 😛
Let me know when you have another x64 version to test…sadly this version cannot get past that error message. :-k
