Well, I re installed the UA-25 and now Podium can *see* it. That seemed to solve the problem. I am using it on Windows XP.
Was the unit installed properly before? Yes. Sonar picked it up and was using it. Once I closed that down and started up Podium I got the error message. Once I reinstalled the UA-25 Podium could see it properly. No more error message.
Ok…I have created a totally new project and now it appears to be re calling my mulits and kits in Stylus correctly.
The only thing I have done differently is…
On Vista: Simply restarted Podium multiple times and now it seems to work.
On XP: Same thing. Simply restarting Podium mulitple times seems to change the odd behaviour.
.ini has been sent.

I have now had this exact same error with Podium 1.89. 😯 I am using an Edirol UA25. The interface works properly in Sonar but Podium keeps giving me the same error message that Moody B has been getting.
I am having this problem on Windows xp.
Send me your Podium.ini file.
Ok, will do.

Could your new project be based on an old template made before automatic preset saving was implemented? Check that there is a library preset assigned to the track.
Not sure, it may be an older template but I will certainly double check. I will check the Library preset again as well.
Thanks for the fixes Frits, drag and drop is very smooth in 1.89. It’s great to finally have that functionality in Podium when using Stylus RMX 🙂 …however..for some reason I cannot get Podium to save my changes to Stylus RMX. Never had a problem with this before.
It seems to recall an *existing* project with the current settings as I left them in Stylus but if I start a new project, Podium (even though I save the project) will “forget” the settings, so Stylus keeps loading up “empty”.
I am hoping other Stylus users do not have this problem with new projects, so that will narrow it down to my system. But I am getting this same problem on Vista and XP (both on different PC’s).
No Stylus kits or multis are recalled by Podium when a project is re opened after it has been saved.

Anyone here that have an MCU or another brand of control surface that can emulate it?
Sorry wish I could help, don’t have anything like that. I don’t really use control surfaces.
I think if you are really going to add control surface support in Podium then doing so with a MCU is certainly a very good start.
While not on my wish list at all for Podium for my personal use (but is something to have to draw in more users) I think if the developer has an interest in a particluar feature surely he can add what he wants! 8)
Just have it all done in 48 hrs max 😆
As with other features in Podium I’m sure it will work out very well. 😉
I like the idea. While Podium remains the most stable and reliable software package I have used for music, I would still be very interested in some sort of automated history process or versioning in Podium.
That would be a highly useful feature IMO. I think making it optional is probably the best way forward. 😉

I’m tempted to say its a Emu driver prob as it hasn’t been updated since 2005, but I’d like to make sure before I return it for an alternative like Edirol or M-Audio.
Any help would be appreciated.
Hi,
If I then enable the interfaces in the audio/midi prefs in Podium they seem to work fine.
I would have thought that was a set and forget option, perhaps you really do have another application running in the background that is using your device?
Not sure how much this might help but…have you tried downloading and installing the very latest drivers for your EMU USB interface?
Or did you mean the EMU drivers have not been updated by EMU since 2005?
Is your device always powered on first before starting Podium?
I wish I could offer more help but I have not come across that kind of error before. 🙁
I just had a quick look on EMU’s site they do have 2007 drivers for the xmidi 2×2 and 1×1 products.

That might solve your problem or at least narrow down the cause hopefully. 😉

The drag/drop fix is taking a bit longer than anticipated, because I’m adding an additional feature for drag/copying files (by holding ctrl key). Hopefully it is done tomorrow.
Cool. I thnk we all agree that getting it right is the most important thing (business as usual here) not how quickly it gets out of the door. Take your time and thanks for the update on 1.89 progress. 😉
He he..it’s so long now I can barely remember how I purchased Podium. 🙂 I think it was through share it. In any case Paypal really does seem to be the quickest and easiest way to buy and sell software IMO. 😉
