So, before I start, I will say that I use a 40″ LED TV screen, full HD (1920×1080) and my eyesight sucks, so I have Windows 7 set to … 125% text size, I think. Windows 7 then increases the size of most text, scrollbars, icons etc. You *could* look at this in Windows also, to determine how you should size the interface. It would allow Podium to be more compatible with general system settings.
I could understand why you might not want to bother with such a thing, but as a steadfast user of larger-than-100% font/scrollbar/icon/etc size in Windows now (on my laptop too) it’s sure nice when other programs, like internet browsers, recognise this setting and render the text larger for me too.

+1 for “Arrangements & Media”
I’m not keen on “Device Objects”, it’s meaning isn’t all that obvious. I prefer Conquistadors suggestion “Plugins and Mappings”
These two seem like a good idea to me.
I would say Arrangements, Sounds and Videos; sounds weird to have two “and” words there. 🙂
“Media” is fine in my opinion. Adding Objects or Elements to it works as well, though it starts sounding a bit technical, or object-oriented, like it’s programming talk and not audio work. I have no other suggestions, however, even after consulting a thesaurus briefly.
My only concern with “Media” would be that I’m not sure if “Arrangements” really would be media. Video and sound are media, but arrangements are patterns of media.
Of course, if you changed it and turned arrangements into its own section where you could do pattern-based production as well, well that would solve it. 😀
You’ll likely include .flac support??
=P~
That’s awesome for me since my entire music collection is in .flac, and also to save space I like to use lossless compression where possible. I admit I use WavPack format for music stuff and .flac for playback (I believe WavPack has better compression and I don’t need it to decompress as fast – last time I looked, anyway). But still, it is a boon!
The way it is currently makes more sense to me; I consider that when I want to change something, I make a new copy and work on one of them, and leave the other.
It’s still not very .. er .. graceful in terms of implementation.
That’s completely lame. You should really contact Share-It about that and see if they can change it, maybe use a default one on any that you haven’t entered etc.
That’s indeed true; I hadn’t thought of that because I don’t work that way usually. 🙂

Could you guys explain why you don’t use the “load device setup” submenu in the project templates?
I understand how you see it, but personally, I just don’t quite work that way. For me, I look at plugin lists, and then add them, almost like browsing a list of files. I don’t need it “mapped” until I choose to use it in the software.
I also find that having to remember to keep my “blank.pod” updated is a nuisance. If I even update a plugin, sometimes updates have new or changed parameters, and therefore I need to re-import. Or if I’m adding new plugins. I have to first handle the installation of the plugins, then I have to open the blank.pod file, then import the particular plugins (and I also do a bit of renaming and shifting of the device definitions and stuff – on that note, you can still move, if you copy it, paste it, then delete the old one 🙂 ), to make sure Podium doesn’t try to use outdated sets of parameters.
When just the files are listed right in the project arrangement view like in XT, I can choose which I want and as long as I’ve maintained the VST folders, and load it. If I’ve recently updated it, or added more, they are just listed automatically after the file is there, I don’t need to maintain any database within the host as well.
It’s just more intuitive to me.
I’m using 3.0.2 as far as I am aware. Might try downloading the latest version again and importing it, but so far, if I am indeed using 3.0.2, it’s working fine for me.
[edit]
Well hold on though, I didn’t really think properly, but I didn’t check the mappings, and I’m still using 2.26, I haven’t tried 2.27b6.
[edit2]
Oh my! I downloaded the 2.27b6 and I also cannot import Drumatic 3.
thcilnnahoj, can you tell me how the mapping is not created correctly, so I can double-check that on mine as well? I am not sure what to look for, as I often use energyXT as a VST bucket for everything I put in a track.
