😮 😯
Yes they load an play. I mostly use 32float and I checked this partculary file in audtion >>> 32 bit float 44 khz
Edit:
Could it be I saved in audition as a 24-bit packed int(type 1,20-bit)
but it gives 32bit float in its properties.
Some other files I can not open
In the properties of the file in podium it says resolution 20bits
❓
Hi Frits,
Downloaded the latest version. great stuff this explorer like browser.
I noticed that 32float is supported now (by accident). Since when because I didn’t noticed it before.
If you use you use Halion multitimbral (global instance), it’s best to make a bank library preset >>> Click right on the track mapped with halion and choose plugin preset/New bank library preset
With new program library preset you only syncing one program. If you have a few tracks using different/multiple channels from Halion you can add new programs and they all will be synced with this bank library preset. You have less to concern this way then by making new program library presets and assigning them for every program/patch you create in Halion

If plugins are imported as multitimbral, they are configured as global plugins and thus are loaded when the project is loaded.
The reason I assumed it is because when I load a project with Halion it takes a lot of time to start playing (or after pressing the monitoring button) .But the reason is that it’s only at that moment Halion start to load its samples >> not while loading the project.
Hi,
As far as I know one of the two podium Icons is the asio (audio) driver. It appears briefly when starting podium. It is possible it hangs when the driver is not accessible. But even in the latest versions, podium just loads with a warning.

With which audio drivers are you working? Is it ASIO?
Is there something else using the audio card

If you want to avoid ‘leaving’ a curve breakpoint when you drag a slider, use the right mouse button (while still holding left button down) to abort the drag action. This will reset the slider to the position before you started dragging, and undo the curve change.
Yes, … but I can’t hear (pre-listen) the result of the sliderposition. 😥

I just verified that I can record both curve and parameter events with my AN1x. There doesn’t appear to be anything broken that once worked. However the parameter events so far only work with MIDI parameters. The floating point parameters such as mixer level and pan and VST parameters does not currently include a dial. I’ll get around to implement that at some point.
Indeed. I realise now it was with midi parameters and not with audio. Would be helpfull in some circumstances to use these with audio as well.

Thanks for the mousewheel support. Helps a lot

Thanks for the tip Dan :),
Just tried 1.008. It did appear to behave better. I could automate more parameters and longer than the previous version, but then all of a sudden *POOF*, back to the desktop. I was automating 4 parameters simultaneously, so maybe a moderate use of automation will be possible.

Can you change the length of a reverb. I get strange behaviour. >> complete cpu overload I think. Even if the curve is on/off ( from full lenght to shorter lenght in one step)

You might like to know, there is a new version of SIR released. Hope this fixes your problem

Thanks.
I tried it. It seems a bit more stable but I had a crash.
At the end I think SIR is not the right plugin to use as an “experimental” FX. When you try to change the length of the reverb the play cursor in podium freaks out (internal clock becomes erratic) and also suffering cpu peaks. Perhaps because its a convolution reverb which makes it not ideal to do parameter changes like length changes etc.

When I want to set the volume of a track group or for any track to a certain percentage it is written in the parameter file as curves/peaks for that moment. but it would be useful if you could also set a global volume >> if you move the volume that it makes that percentage for the whole timeline.
I am not entirely sure I understand what you mean. Could you describe it differently?
I found what the “problem” was:
Wat I meant was that if you move the the volume slider in for example the beginning of the region/part that not the whole volume for the remainder was increased >> eg I was getting a peak but the rest of the volume was staying low. But the reason I foundt was that , although the curve was a flat horizontal on a certain percentage, there were some break point in the curve. Of cource if I moved the volume up it went up till the next breakpoint >> a peak
I think this is a side efect of the “no read/write” method (which is pretty good). when I move the volume to check something out, the curve reacts, but when I put back the volume where it was, >> a breakpoint is created. I’m not always aware of that.
I still think you need to implement a way that you can move a volume (or any parameter) without it has effect on the curve (modifier key)
Because in the current state everything is written, and even if you don’t have curve changes they getting breack points every time you do something and roll back.
About the parameter events.
I remember that when I recorded I was getting all kind of little regions in my tracks with a dial on it for every change in the parameter. I know I could choose if I wanted a curve or a parameter event while recording.
I don’ t see the way anymore how to do this?
I’m on XP but I think the drivers are the same.
Have you tried to roll back the driver to the previoius (final 34) version >> there is perhaps some strange quirk in the latest driver release.
Hi,
A minor thing I encountered.
By adding the feaure that the contextual menu reflects the tools in the toolbar I get the X(only) and Y(only) zoom function in the contextual menu (they are in my toolbar) >> but they are not selectable in the contextual menu.

Hi blurk,
I can’t see anywhere where I can select which of the the Delta’s outputs to use. In fact, I can’t even explicitly select the Delta at all. The only two choices for audio interface are
and . I’d expect to see the Delta AP listed here, preferably split into a choice of outputs.
My m-audio card (delta 66) is working fine. my driver is from 26 december 2003 (36 final).
Below is how my settings are in the Midi/audio interfaces setup dialog (under setup in the project window). I don’t know if I understood you right but I can see all kinds of modes under “Asio interface” like duplex, multimedia and also M-Audio asio
Have you set in the device mapping dialog (eg for your master stereo) under target channels/speaker configuration “stereo 2channels” starting from output 1; meaning it will use 2 channels starting from your first outputchannel. If you use a second stereo output you could set start from 3th target channel (eg output channel 3-4 from your card)
Have you tried with a fresh new project, not with the demo project >> perhaps you did something wrong because you had to set all the plugins yourself etc.
If you ceate a new project with only a mastertrack (output 1-2) and drop an audio file on that track 16 or 24 bit. the audio file will be added in your project browser (not on your track) >> drag the audio file from the project browser on your track (place it on the mastertrack). Do have sound?

-splitting clipsNot sure what you mean here. The scalpel tool can be used to split sequence events.
Yes sorry, I was referring in the mideditor itself: a way you can set a highlighted region (segment) and split it. because there you work on detailed musical information. It’s also in context of changing lenghts from the regions from within the midi editor.I don’t mean the destructive edit function like crop etc. Just that you can use the split function (scalpel) inside the midi editor (with effect in the arrangement)
a way that you can switch seamless arrangements via a list
If you just want to switch arrangements quickly, you can use the list in the Project Wizard.
But not while playing, if you switch audio is stopped.
Podium is ok. I was more a joke. But it would be also ok if you could refer to the typical structure of Podium in it’s name.
you right it’s pretty universal.
Now really back to work
See ya
hmm yes, you are right, although I don’t know this is the same problem.
When I tried before when it seemed to work i had started a project with eXT as an insert plugin >> that’s when the preset seemed to work
When I switch eXT to a global plugin the setting arent loaded (eg the preset function doesn’t work)
If I open the preset properties I can see that it has content because it shows the normal size. but it doesn’t seem to load
edit:
I reloaded the default setup and now both modes seems to work again.
