I did my own little cpu usage test, basically the same as michi_mak – one looped wav with 1 effect, in this case D16 toraverb and the results were:
podium 3.0.1 = 4-5%
energyxt 2.6 = 2-3%
ableton live8 = 2-3%
flstudio 10 = 1-2%
update:
Interestingly, I re-ran the test on Podium, then minimized it to the taskbar whilst still playing and the cpu usage dropped from 4-5% to around 1-2%
Awesome! works perfectly in Foxit pdf reader.
thanks dude 😀
Thanks for the news update Frits. Agreed that it seems an opportune moment to move on to 3.x.x
I voted yes, but the alternative is to do what I do – I have a lifetime license, but bought a second license about 3 years ago and pay the annual $35 upgrade fee. Mind you, I didn’t base my decision on whether any particular features were added, but I do see where you’re coming from.

Hi.
I did a whole “record” with Nucleum.
It’s essentially a soundtrack to a movie that doesn’t exist.
Listened…really like it – thanks 😀
Mart.
Thanks Frits. Great to see you back on the case 🙂

Well, now that I have been working with Podium for a month or so,
a few workflow-improving features occured as a natural extension of my work…
Lots of good ideas there – 🙂
Regarding clip colours, that was an idea I raised some time ago. It’s something that Propellerheads do very well in Reason; i.e assign some particular colour to an individual clip, which I find is really helpful when it comes to arranging.

In this thread Frits says he has been busy with other matters not related to Podium. He doesn’t elaborate further, but hopefully things will pick up again soon.
QuikQuak have made a time stretching/pitch shifting engine called Copula:
http://www.quikquak.com/Prod_Copula.html
To quote the Dev, he says: “Copula is an engine to be licensed, and not a real-time plug-in as such…”
As far as I can tell it’s still in development, but there is a standalone version available which demonstrates it’s abilities very well and in a good light I think. No information on pricing though.
Might be worth investigating?

I’ve just checked and the same thing happens here too.

My problem is, I want to have a midi sequence afterwards for further editing…
If I record the midi sequence in energyXT2, I cannot export it as .mid file…it supports only its own clips…
But there is an ‘export to midi file’ option in XT2, under the file menu.

It’s not something I see myself ever using, but FWIW, I think it’s a good move for Frits and the future of Zynewave.
Thanks for the update Frits – particularly the fast shutdown fix. That had been a problem for me in the past, but it now closes very quickly 🙂

I do appreciate the current feature a lot and it would be pretty cool if you could support some editing – perhaps as basic as selecting an event in the list and providing a dialog box to modify it (including a “delete” option)
Would you please consider adding this feature request to your queue?
+1 to that 🙂
I had a go at this. I was able to import LivemachineLE into the database but not Livemachine itself – Podium said something like ‘could not open plugin livemachine.dll’, so I edited the LivemachineLE device mapping to point instead to the Livemachine dll and now it works!
Hope that makes sense 🙂
