If I enter the midi data while it’s looping it seems ok but…it appears if I enter data too close to the time the play cursor starts looping (back to the beggining of a loop or loop start point) then Podium will play back the entire 4 bar loop in complete silence until it starts the loop again.
This is fixed in release 1.88.
Good fix Frits – nice one 🙂

thanks for the info. i’m glad to hear this can be done! though i’m having trouble locating this ‘little circular button’. When i click on the param tab, all i see is a device and mixer button. when i click on the device button, it only calls up Pitch Bend, Channel Pressure, Program Change, Modulation and volume. When i click the mixer but, it only calls up Level, Pan, Send. I don’t see any button that allows me to create new midi parameter objects by CC.
hopefully it’s not right in front of my face! thanks for the help.
I’m not sure, but I think the ‘new midi parameter’ button may have been added since the CM 1.77 version was released. If so, you’ll have to try the demo…

Hi, VM user here too 🙂
It’s quite easy to add automation tracks to VM in Podium. I’m Assuming you’ve already assigned CC’s within VM. In Podium click on the ‘Param’ tab in the track inspector on the left, then click on the little circular button which opens a list allowing you to create new midi parameter objects by CC#. Once you have created the CC objects you need, you can then add the parameters as sub-tracks to VM. Hope that’s clear…For more detail on parameter automation have a look at p70 in the manual.

Looks great Frits – a lot more space efficient.

Both the master chain and bus return docking can be set to either left or right side.

The mixer currently does not autoscroll to always keep the current track in view, but I could add an option for this. The docked bus returns would always show all bus return groups, so no scrolling needed for this section.

I’d certainly be pleased to see the addition of the ‘zGrid’ thingy in V2 🙂

Being such a capable designer as well as a developer really is a highly useful combination and Podium has certainly benefited from it in many ways. Your implementation of spline curves and the project start page are just two great examples. 😉 Nice work!
Agreed – 100% 8)

Thanks for that… 🙂
I enlarged it a bit and set it as the background image in the browser window – great for quick reference.

I’m just not sure why Frits decided on the right to left flow. I can’t see any logical reason for that over a left to right direction.
… look at the Windows Explorer tree view ?
An looking at it from that perspective it’s extremely logical…
Not sure about that…a somewhat tenuous connection I think. It’s a moot point anyway, as far as I’m concerned, as I think the current design is fine as it is.

Not a problem for me and of course most Podium users but I agree. I can see how this would at least initally could confuse.
Podium is quite different (in a good way) in some of the ways it offers to do certain things but I can see how a new user might ask “but why, what and how?” initially.
Indeed, it’s no problem for me either. I’m just not sure why Frits decided on the right to left flow. I can’t see any logical reason for that over a left to right direction.

The upwards flow has always felt perfectly natural to me and I don’t really understand why some folks have difficulties with that – I can see why the right to left flow in the mixer strip could be problematic for some though.

The first version may not support it, but it should be possible later on to support routing MIDI through the grid as well. You could then layer synths and play them with a single track/MIDI input.
Nice innovation Frits 😀 I’m really looking forward to using this feature.
