Welcome Cris17 π
If you’re willing, please consider sharing your music with our SoundCloud group. (<--click) As far as advice on mastering, I suggest CymaticCycle has a clean, transparent sound. That said, you might prefer the finish achieved by another Zynewaver 8)
Happy sequencing

Did the .MINI file have anything to associate with “all” my song arrangements having the missing .wav “placements”?
-Yes. The .MINI system I’ve been told “before” is a “snapshot” for the .wav files, if deleted the .wav is removed from the arrangement, you keep the .wav on your HDD, but now to Podium it doesn’t know “where” to put that because you just deleted the information that told Podium “where to put it”.[if you don’t believe me, try it.]I’ve just tried this by deleting .mini files I had for vocals placed in an arrangement. I then loaded Podium, and all the .wav placements I had with all the setup were stored. Then I found the .mini had been recreated.
I too tried replicating the bug, with the .mini file, without success. My sample placements were all correctly aligned. Another test I made was to:
Based on the tracks you uploaded to our SoundCloud group, I’d say Podium has served you well. Keep us informed if any .pods you make in the future get uploaded. And enjoy working with StudioOne 8)

Didn’t you add a gradient to object icons?
Yes I did! … in September 2010. π
π³ Noticing something after looking at it for a year and a half is so me.

When the “Load plugin database” option is not available in the menu, it means Podium has not found an existing plugin database. Try the “explore setup folder” in the setup menu, and check if you have the PluginDatabase.pod or PluginDatabase_x64.pod file.
Aah! Thank you, Frits. This is the first I’ve used the New Project Window since upgrading to Windows7 and installing Podium afresh. I hadn’t built the plugin database either. I’ll now paste a copy of the template project with a customised device list to the setup folder and rename it “PluginDatabase.pod”
I have updated from v.3.1.0
Didn’t you add a gradient to object icons?

As far as I recall, the plugin database option has never been available when you are using a project template. Are you saying you used to have this option?
Yesβ¦ how strange?! I’d have to deinstall v.3.1.1 and reinstall a previous version to double check but am willing to take your word for it π³
β¦ this is the menu entry I thought was available.
p.s. My memory is not the most water-tight. I forget birthdays, what I went to the supermarket for and have a vivid (though false) recollection of travelling with Aeroflot.
Thanks for the improvements, Frits.
I even noticed the new object icons’ very tactile look π
There is, however, a feature I miss. And that is the ‘Load Plugin Database‘ (from a template project) on the New Project Window. π
p.s. Occasionally I come across mention of Podium. Here’s one on Bedroom Producers Blog.

Happy sequencing/recording/coding everybody ♫
Great work on Domn al Vesniciei, Adimatis π
I would love for you to add it, or any other of your songs made in Podium, to our SoundCloud group – Podium Poppets.
Hi gylstorff
Be sure to use a multitimbral instance; or have your carrier and modulators feeding into the vocoder on appropriate channels (L/R). The method varies with different plugins.
TAL Vocoder and Vocov are great. Orange Vocoder is another one to consider. It isn’t free but the built-in synth has presets to get you going straight away.
For one without a built in carrier CM Vocoder is pretty good. It’s bundled monthly on the cover disc of Computer Music magazine.
Addenda : While not being a carrier/modulator vocoder, Delay Lama sounds great as a throat whistling monk. Throw the X-Y pad around for speech-like inflections.
Another +1
You can also hit Insert. Sample and midi events will be duplicated at the next empty quantization point π
Note : Ctrl + Drag for a ghost copy; double tap Ctrl + Drag for unique copy. Visual representation as to which will be on the mouse pointer, an alias (ghost) or plus (unique).

β¦I indeed plan to make this file based, so that any saved library presets are available for all projects.
+1 to a centralised preset library.
There are menu entries to save in universal preset formats, .fxp (program) and .fxb (bank)

I have to plug in my Nanokeys to the USB BEFORE I open up the Podium program. If I open the Podium program first and THEN plug in the Nanokeys to the USB Podium will not see the Nanokeys⦠Is this usual for all USB Keyboards?
Launching Podium with an unpowered/unplugged USB keyboard yields the same scenario for me. Rather than closing and reopening Podium you can bring up the Setup > Audio/Midi > MIDI (tab) with your USB device powered, check the box next to your midi device and click ‘OK’.
I replicated this in FL Studio and had to click ‘Rescan MIDI devices’ in the preference panel.
While it adds to your carbon footprint I suggest always having your keyboard powered, even if it means adding an USB hub to the chain π

Hi, I’m not sure if you record notes like that as I insert them using the mouse on the timeline area. Clicking those notes should produce sound though.
The keyboard in the editor is for auditioning and doesn’t record mouse clicks. Though it might be a good feature for those not using a MIDI keyboard π
β’ Tip : Clicking towards the left on a key auditions at low velocity; clicking towards the right auditions at high velocity π
Also, click the ‘R’ button on track headers to arm that track for recording (audio, midi events or automation).
Definitely test your setup with Zynewave’s suggestion first. i.e. Drop a wav/aiff file onto the timeline and play. If you still hear nothing then check your Setup > Midi/Audio settings.
Could you tell us what plugin you’re having trouble with? Some of us might have it, or would be willing to install and test it.
π Found it!
TeeJei x Lion – Something else
‘Get It’ and ‘Something About Hip-Hop’ (creepy flutes) are my favourites π
Woah! There’s a lot of work you’ve done there.
I couldn’t translate from Swedish to fully appreciate it but can tell it suffices as user guide for learners.
Great work blafot π
