Lion, nanoKey now is for $30. New. THis is because Korg is going to release nanoControllers v2.
Wouldn’t surprize me, those prices I listed are purely front page. Just to show how little it can cost without much effort.
I did see the second series and I’m thinking to get the nanopad2. IF it doesn’t have the same problems as the first one.
On the subject of MIDI on the go.
There are mini MIDI controllers ranging from 40 to 100 USD.
You can find the Korg Nano Key for 40 bucks, avg. 50
Akai LPK25 down to 50, avg 60
LPD8 down to 60, avg. 70
Mini MPK down to 80, avg. 100
These are not expensive and they work great.
Liquid make a video showing how to use midi input effects
I run it on my netbook
Actually I bought it BECAUSE it runs smoothly on my netbook. 😆
As for heavy VST’s
only DSK is problematic but, they’re the same for my dual core desktop.
only other plugin I can think of that tends to be heavy is TranceDrive when the voices are set at like 32. I usually set to 12 cause the voices can have a LONG life.
uhhhhh
You kinda need a soundfont player to use soundfonts. Which come in VSTi form.
Just saying 😆

As I see it, the problem with Podium quantization is that you only can do it only for each clip, so if you write new clips or you want to change the quantization in a track (i.e changing shuffle) you must do it for each individual clip.
What would be perfect would be a global (for each track) and realtime exclusive quantization window that could be used in recording or playback, and you could render its effect as we do now with quantization for each clip.
You could add it in another right menu entry on the track header.
This is the way to go. Tho i thought it was for track to begin with, not clips.
Having it by track should allow for different quant settings for each, possibly opening some live performance capability.
Not that live performance is the focus. But anything that can be done in realtime can be done in front of an audience 😉
thanks!
Had fun making it.
Most beats made and all of it recorded. mixed and mastered in Podium.

If I remember right Liquid Project told me to steer towards C++ made plugins because they are best for Podium.
Yes, try to avoid SynthEdit plugins. Synthmaker plugins, however, seems a little more stable than SE, but you cannot compare them to pure native C++ plugins. There is badly coded C++ plugins that crash more than SE plugins, but just few exceptions.
You could use one or two instances of SE or SM plugins, use them with moderation. It’s the same that when you go out and drink: one alcoholic drink, fine, two… you can have some problems, three… hey man, where the fuck did I leave my clothes???? 😉
Tatapoum is made in SynthEdit. It works just fine.
None of the Problems I get with DSK plugins.
LoopDrive and TranceDrive we’re both made with SynthMaker, again no problems.

MS requires that all development is done using the C# programming language.
Are you freakin’ serious?? M$ is being just as stubborn as Apple and Sony with that C#
I THINK you just run the emu and load up whatever app you’re testing.
I’m not entirely sure, I haven’t gotten my hands wet in android development yet.
But I’ve seen the Android Emu start in the OS itself and not straight into whatever app in question. From there, I’m assuming you can load the apk like you would on a device itself.
Still, I’m not entirely sure as I haven’t dove into it myself.
There is so, In the the Android SDK.
Unless I’m mistaken here.
Try the emulator, thats what they have that for 😛
Either way, I’m getting that device. This doesn’t make or break such decision.
To you as well
Now, GET BACK TO WORK!! 😈
Has this been tested on android, at least in the emulator?
This is really making me want the archos 43 even more, which seemed impossible before this. 😆
