My screenshot was using the “compact strips” option, so that is why the meter widths are not as wide as usual. The meters will be the same width as in previous Podium releases, and in fact I plan to remove the “compact strips” option once I implement strip width zooming.
Anyway, even with normal strips, I think they’re very thin, that’s the reason I suggest a semitransparent slider. Just an opinion.
Another ‘taste’ opinion. I don’t find very appealing the fact that when you have the cursor over any Podium control is highlighted. Any chance to remove this feature or do it switchable?
As you can see for me the ‘solidity feeling’ when I do music is very important 😀
could be possible have wider meters? While the buttons are bigs, the width of meters seems too thin, so the strip interface is a little descompensated…
You could also drag a wider meter with a transparent slider on top, so you could keep mixer strip width.
Thanks Frits, it seems nice… and thanks by full colour the mixer tracks! 😀
I think you must round the right side of mute buttons [X] also, since they will give more empty space between mixer strips.
I am undecided whether the slider knobs in the mixer (and rack and track headers) should assume the color of the background, or if they should be the default button color. What would you prefer?
I’d prefer see them with default button color, the same for pan slider, and maybe also BSMR buttons (tracks & mixer).
Best regards!
😮 😮 😮 I didn’t see that! Thanks you thcilnnahoj, I’ll try it 😀

I can’t see anything in the registry, and the .ini files are stored in:
C:Users…AppDataRoamingZynewavePodium
Mart.
You’re right 🙂 then, would be possible that Podium look for these files in the Podium.exe folder?

Podium is portable. I tried it. Although it writes something in the windows registry (nothing critical)
It isn’t fully portable, I was wrong. I think it writes something in registry as audio in/outputs, colors, profiles…
Maybe those things could be written in an “ini” file in the same folder that Podium.exe, so it would be portable. I’ve said this pretty happily, but maybe it’s difficult to code ><

Calling it “Rack” will of course make more sense once I implement the embedded plugin editors.
I’m very excited about that! In general I’m very pleased with last changes, really 😀

I’m guessing I need a couple of weeks to update the mixer to the new chain design. I wonder if I should delay the release of 2.23 so that it includes the changes to the mixer?
I would say ‘yes’ because, for me, the consistency is something very important.
Thanks!

The tracks region options I’m currently working on will enable you to hide some or all of the controls on the track header, if you prefer a clean design.
Thanks very much Frits, I love clean designs, they inspire me.

I think it is more user friendly that you use the same type of effect/track management in the inspector, track headers and mixer strips. With all the recent changes to the inspector/track headers, the mixer is in a state of limbo at the moment.
Yes, same behavior in same objects class give a feel of consistency; I think this is really important.
Thanks Conquistador!
However I found so easy and so quick current Inspector behaviour that I don’t miss that feature, although I respect your desire 🙂 Maybe you see it in another way that I cannot see that would rocket your workflow.
Best regards!
Sorry I don’t understand… quick question… why is there any need to have a popup panel if you have the same in inspector and mixer? It’s ok you don’t want have both visible the 100% of time, but one of them could be (or just open it as you would do with a popup windows). Just a question, I’m not critizing the idea 🙂

It’s impossible for the host to split up the processing of a single plugin, or even a chain of serially connected plugins
Ok! the other sentences after that, except the part of Kontakt, are too complex to understand for my poor brain a sunday after *the last saturday drink*. I’m sure that it’s always the last drink that makes me feel ill!! 😛

In beta6 the effect record buttons are finally gone. The track lane record button will also record enable all plugin effect tracks.
I love those minor changes that simplify Podium workflow! I was trying it and I saw this:
Since green inputs are the same that red input, the green inputs hasn’t too much sense, I see them as a waste of space and an unnecesary interface overload. Unless you have another plans for them, I would hide them from children tracks.
Since beta1 this has improved a lot! thanks!
Would be possible hide the Input slot in tracks header? I use inputs in my works rarely and for me is a wasted space
edit: if you modify track settings, please add a “Max height” for them, I find uncomfortable the automatic resizing of tracks when I hide the mixer/editor… because if I hide them is to be able to see more tracks 😉
