Ohhh, didn’t know about the load setup thing!!
Wow this is like a whole new podium!!
And the new method of editing timeline stuff is much better.
Ahhhh! Thanks all for that info.
Yes ctl+a/t and ctl+shift will be a great help (I lhad only looked through shortcut key guide but didn’t see them) and I agree they’re a bit awkward but I think I will find this OK in the long run.
Keys for + and – zoom would still be a nice addition.
Wow, this software has hidden depths!! I think now that I’m getting to use more features of Podioum that I need to re-read the guide cover to cover in case there’s anything else I’m missing!
I think your 4th request has already been implemented and there are a few useful key/mouse combinations for zooming. These are mentioned towards the end of the zooming section of the Podium Guide:
http://www.zynewave.com/wiki/doku.php?id=guide:editors#zooming
My 4th request was actually about scrolling not about zooming.
I.e. Moving mouse will scroll the view (like draging to move current locarion the map on google maps)
Also I don’t have a mouse wheel becuase I mostly use the pad on my laptop.
Ahh sounds like what I need thanks
Hi, Late post but for other folks still interrested in this…
I have a Presonus firebox and works smashing on vista, although I have noticed that I can’t achieve as short a latency time as I did on same laptop PC with XP running.
It did take presonus ages to come out with the vista dirvers though!!
Cheers,

Hi,
When you import a device setup, it overwrites the name of your project.
Thanks,
Mike G
Hi,
I’ve not used podium for a month or 2 (too busy to play!)
Just started recording again with v 2.03 and I just had to post some positive feedback for you..
I love ability to import device setup… hurrah!
It allows me to manage my plug-in devices in an intuitive and very flexible way.
Looking forward to playing with track templates…
Thanks loads fritz,
Mike G
Just adding another Yes please to this!
Thanks,
Mike G
Hi,
Have finally got round to buying a new midi keyboard (M-Audio Oxygen v2)
Play and stop keys work (after some tweaking from M-Audio side)
Are play and stop the only MMC commands supported by podium?
I have a few other buttons that it would be useful if they worked, namely:
Record enable, Loop enable, ffwd, rewind. (Most of these seem to correspond to std MMC commands as far as I can tell)
Also if I press stop twice on my MIDI keyboard, could it make podium go back to start of track the same as if I’d clicked stop button in UI with my mouse twice?
If I pressed rewind or ffwd, could it move between markers (Same as q and w keys?)
Thanks again,
Mike G
Hi Sam,
Am now uploading another part, this time piano (no midi I’m afraid) it comes st out of my Yamaha Digital piano.
This is mostly intended to replace the ePiano part (especially starting bit) that I wasn’t that keen on.
It’s a bit sloppy but I guess it’ll do for a blues tune!
I added this with low frequency cut and reverb as in previous uploaded proj for organ and ePiano.
As for the drums, any nice midi files you have would be very useful for me and thanks for mentioning those other companies I’ll take a look.
Thanks,
Mike G
Excellent sam, can’t wait.
If you’d like me to re do anything or if you have any suggestions for some alternative sounds/tunes then just let me know.
Will you upload the podium project so we can all have a play at mixing it? I’d love to see what different effects and eq etc. people add to the track, it’s an area in which I don’t feel I really know what I’m doing yet.
(I know blues is very raw and unprocessed but still…)
More specific comments/questions about the drums…
Whenever I’ve tried to do my own laid back drums they always sound so sloppy and a million miles away form yours.
Do you just use the metronome and play along to it or is there some other technique? Do you do much editing after recording or do you use any quantise etc.
BTW I did notice that the audio files didn’t seem to line up easily with the metronome, so in my project I did a bit of cliping and re-aligning.
Also would it be possible to have the MIDI for the drums please (Totally selfishly I’d like to use it as a basis for some other blues tracks – if that’s OK by you that is)
Thanks again,
Mike G
Hi All,
OK finally reemerged from a busy period (working away lots and also was had a couple of big church services to plan in evenings etc…)
Anyway now have done some organ and piano parts, tried a few different ideas and have uploaded entire podium project incl. midi and bounced audio so anyone else can have “Full control” over my ideas.
Have used MrRay22 for elec piano (http://www.soundfonts.it/?a=read&b=16)
Have used GTG micro Organ Mk II for organ sounds (http://gtgsynths.com/plugins.htm)
Sorry for taking such a long time getting down to this.
(Files still uploading as I post this…)
Thanks,
Mike G
Thanks, that works perfectly.
Hi
Could sam or anyone tell me what format the files are, I’m dragging the wav files into podium and audicity and just getting loud noise.
Any ideas?
Are my files corrupted during download or something all 3 seem to be the same.
Thanks,
Mike G
Yeah I’m interrested, how do we go about this?
If you get you podium project uploaded, I can add a few different takes and see what you think.
