Frits, almost anything I open or start I want the engine shut down. In my view it is a safer way to open or start anything. No pops or surges.
I guess I view it as, for example, turning on a mixer with master faders up. I think the master faders should be down.
It won’t make a huge difference but personally I want to turn the engine on when I am ready!
Thanks
I like the new logo.
This is a nice update for the UI. Very clean and well organized.
Frits, I have a program that has track layers. So you can select 1 thru 8 on every track as optional takes. Track 1 layer 1 or track 1 layer 8. You can audition any of the eight layers and even cut and paste between them for one final track.
It might work like this, I have a guitar solo on track 8. I want to try again without creating a new track so I select track 8, layer 2 for the second take. I can do this 8 times on this track becasue all tracks have 8 layers.
When I used a Roland 2480 these were called virtual tracks. Each of the 24 tracks available on the Roland 2480 have 16 sub tracks, called virtual tracks. These are mainly for prinitng multiple takes without creating new tracks.
In Podium I just create new tracks each time I want to print a new take. Delete any tracks I am not using, or partial tracks I am not using.
Does this make sense?
I think what you are calling the entire track inspector is what I mean. Just to be sure, the track panel that has the name of the instrument and the gain and pan dial, that cannot be made the same color as the track color?
Frits, are you still going to put the markers location someplace that will show which marker you are curently in?
Thanks
the only part i like less, becasue it takes more space is the snap and bar icons. The original look is much, much more classy. I think you should not change that!
yep, just found it. I wonder why that changed when I loaded 1.97?
Anyway, thanks.
How do I change that? I am in compact mode.
Can you give me the sequence to fix? Thanks!
I have done both. But in either case I cannot change from dial to slider.
Right now I am looking at my track view. I hit the menu button at the bottom of the last track. I select track region properties then i check the box -show pan and gain sliders instead of dials. Nothing happens. It does not matter from where I make this change it does not work.
Frits, I did. It is checked as.. show pan and gain sliders instead of dials. But, I can only see dials………no matter what is checked it will not change from dials??
very nice Frits!
Thanks Frits. The waves support is an outstanding addition!

Ahh, yes. That’s because Podium searches for the Zynewave plugins in a subfolder of the folder where the Podium executable is run. If you move the Podium197_beta1.exe to the “C:Program FilesZynewavePodium” and run it from there, then the Zynewave plugins should import automatically.
The inspector device panel will default to show the nearest mapping for the current track. When you remove an effect from the track, then it will locate the nearest mapping on a parent track (shown ghosted in the device panel header).
that makes sense for the zynewave plugs.
on the device panel, why do two folders open? if it is looking for the nearest mapping why should either folder open? sure would be nice to default to my selection of closed…..
nice job on the waves plugs…….this is very helpful!
o.k. i used scan and import mono/stereo but the zynewave are still outside the zynewave folder and do not load automatically like before.
if i have the inspector open and i have selected devices i have the following behaviour.
i have all device folders closed (+). I ad an fx to a track and then remove it. i do not close the inspector i simply ad an fx to a track and immediately remove it from the track. when i choose delete fx from track the device menu in the inspector changes view to show audio outputs and zynewave fx folders as open (-).
i noticed this becasue i was adding fx and immediately removing them from tracks to make sure i could view them in 1.97. so it seems odd that the inspector device menu would keep defaulting to have the audio and zynewave folders open even though i just closed them.
i hope that is more clear?
Frits, when i close all of the headings in device, like audio outputs and zynewave effects (from – to +), why do those two default back to open (-) after i select a device? only those two devices, audio out and zynewave fx.
thanks
