FWIW, I quite like the one in the projects list, rather than cluttering up the menus.. BUT if a menu version is done, could it be done as a submenu, such as
File
----
Open
Save
Recent-> ILovePodium.pod
---- WhatAGreatPlatform.pod
Exit GiveFritsTheNobelPrizeForInnovation.pod
that way the menus don’t get so cluttered, and the submenu needs only get populated on demand, rather than everytime the file menu is clicked.

nice idea! the only reason i ask for it in the file menu is that i close the project wizard after i’ve set up a project. sure, CTRL +W can open it, but it seems right to have it under the File menu near the Save and Save as
Cheers
One under the file menu would be great 😉
If you’re lucky they might be one of the colour setups that come with Podium… I wouldn’t be able to tell you for sure. Your best bet is to load each of these colour setups one by one to see if any are the one you want
From the Podium guide:
Color Scheme Files
The Podium installer have placed a set of color scheme setup files in the same folder where the Podium.ini file is placed. Use the ‘load setup’ menu command to browse these files. There are complete color scheme files, but also partial color setup files that will only change the panel color and leave the other colors untouched.
You can save your color customizations as a color scheme with the ‘save color setup’ menu command. This will save a setup file with only the settings from the Colors dialog. Loading a color scheme setup file will likewise only affect the Colors dialog settings.
i’ll help with this question as Frits is away until Thursday…
Yes, it doesn’t matter if any audio channels are in the red as long as the master isn’t 🙂 This is because Podium’s mixing engine runs at 32bit, allowing “room” for it the overload internally
btw frits, the in track editing (key, curve etc) is excellent. very cool feature!
hey frits
is there any chance you could build in a plugin tester which checks for offending plugins in projects if you ask it to, and disables the plugin without crashing Podium? i wasn’t sure if that would be possible to build within VST architecture. Just a thought. I have another project now which is also crashing when I enable monitoring, and I’m not sure if it’s the same plugin or a different one
Sorry Frits, I didn’t read through your original explanation clearly enough 😳 Tried the Punch Out button, works just like you say 😉
Looks like a plugin is causing the problem, as you’d thought, I’m currently taking each out (one session at a time) and enabling the arrangement. I think I’ll be here a while before I find the culprit, but it’s the only way to find out for sure…
Thanks for your help, helpful and straight to the point as always, Cheers
Hi Frits
You must not be seeing what I am seeing. I’ve emailed some example images to show you what I am seeing (note, I mocked the images up in PhotoShop because I’m not on my music machine right now… don’t tell my boss!!) 😉
Thanks
Edit: I’ve tried “Load default setup” and I’ve also deleted Podium.ini
But the problem with this one project remains… also, the project in question was probably made in Podium 1.31 or maybe earlier. However none of my other older projects (of which I have many) have had this bug with the Punch Out set to infinity
The coloured track headers are great Frits, thanks!
thanks frits, i’ll let you know
sounds excellent 8)
or maybe one of Acousmod’s plugins can be used?
http://acousmodules.free.fr/index_en.htm
He’s a user of podium actually 🙂
@acousmod: can any of your plugins give Podium surround sound panning capabilities? I had a quick look at your site and it looks like that may be the case
You may find this plugin useful
http://www.kellyindustries.com/panhandler_vst.html
Let us know if it’s any good – I haven’t tried it myself.
It costs a fair amount of money though, but if you were serious enough about surround mixing it would be worth paying for.
PS can anyone tell me exactly where in SOS eSub that the Acousmod reviews are? I searched for AcousMod and AcousModules and nothing came up in the SOS search engine…
