xis23ParticipantSo does this mean that it is only hyper-threading causing the problem, and real dual-core systems are generally fine?
xis23Participantdon’t worry, your not ill :O… it’s because the presets are synced to the synths’ bank now, what you gotta do is right click on the track and create a new preset if you want to change stuff from the preset.
xis23Participanton their forums it says there is latency problems in sonar with it too, so I guess it’s up to them to sort out their plugin. doh tis a shame because it’s such an ace plugin
xis23Participantright it was a plugin. it seems to be voxengo curve eq that causes the problem… it creates a delay of about 0.08 seconds, this isn’t related to bpm setting. what is bizzare is that it does it even if I highlight ‘x’ to disable the plugin!
xis23ParticipantYeah real time bounce recording…. I think it might be because of a plugin much further up the chain just before my master that I forgot was there, so I’ll investigate and get back to you.
xis23Participantoh if i record manually it seems to fix it

Thanks Frits. A welcome addition for VSTi’s
I still have a preset problem however but, I hasten to add it’s not a problem created by Podium.
I have a certain CakeWalk VSTi called Rapture which has decided to break away from the common old fxp:fxb format (they have used “prog” instead). Trust CakeWalk to bugger it up!! 😡
Anyway, I have, at the moment labeled the track sequence as the preset name but it does kind of wreck the usual labels of intro/break/outro etc. Is there any way I can put a label beside the preset panel header to describe the preset location etc (without it linking to the preset) as a reminder for me or indeed if a stickie can be attached to the preset panel itself.Keep up the good work (must be difficult to devote the time to Podium in Denmark because the Beer is sooooo good, especially when combined with music, like at the Roskilde Festival 8) )

right click on the area for rapture… ie the sequencer area it is assigned to.. the one with “S, M, R”, from the menu do plugin preset and then select new bank library preset and this seems to fix it… then you can just name “new bank” to whatever you like… it is kind of doing things the old way but it works.
xis23ParticipantAhhh this is brilliant! I just reinstalled windows to clean my system, so I was waiting for the presets update before I reinstalled podium anway. Didn’t expect it to come this quickly though! Good work man 🙂 .
xis23Participantahh i have tried restarting monitoring already… even tried monitoring a completely different arrangement and that arrangement exhibited the same problem… didn’t try to restart the audio though so i’ll definitely give that a go next time although could be a long time before it happens again!

xis23Participant“Coming up in next release is automatic plugin preset storage” – hooray, although I was just getting used to naming them manually, and just made my template projects doh (i.e projects full of chains i always use)…. “This is things like fade-in/out of audio event” double yay. With these two sorted I got everything I need 😀 ! The only other thing I could ever wish for is: user definable scale for automation tracks. ie. rather than it going from 0 to 100 all the time, or -100 to 100 you could set it up to go from -12 to 12 for instance when you are automating pitch, or whatever other range you have set in the vst instrument, or say 0-22khz for cutoff frequencies etc (although thats a whole new kettle of fish because often it’s not a fixed interval scale) I don’t think any host does this.
xis23Participantooh thanks for the recommendation, that does look a bit clearer… seeing the dominant pitch will be handy for me too since i make quite a lot of dirty drum n bass style sounds that have to be beaten into shape by eq but still sound in tune and for now i was just referencing off the top of my head.
