This may be of help regarding the plugin loading feature update. I have a small number of plugins that do not play nice with Podium. Sometimes the plugin “rack” will turn yellow and inform that a preset must be stored before saving – most plugins do this automatically. Very occasionally I get this message:
“Cannot store preset data from “****”. The reported size of 42mb is beyond the limit allowed in Podium.”
I suspect that the plugin is not reporting properly. In the example above, the plugin was called “Range Bastard” – a simple guitar pedal emulation. Inconceivable that its preset size was many times bigger than others.
Anyway, hope this helps. All DAWS seem to struggle with certain plugins, but it would play to Podiums’ strengths if hosted them all without glitches.
Cheers
I am guessing that you play the exported file in a media player. There could well be a different relative output on this compared to podium. Could also be in the audio properties setting of your pc.
I might be a bit off topic here. Recently i was presented with the warning “plugin…illegal…disabled”.
But there was another message I have not seen before-“preset size exceeds allowable limit of 1mb”.
Could this be a cause of certain plugins not working?
Is it easy to increase the allowable limit? Seems reasonable that 1 mb is quite small these days.
Dude you need a 32bit to 64bit converter. All 64bit DAWS do. The one that everyone seems to use is called j bridge. Gotta get it myself 🙂
I wonder, with that many tracks, if your RAM is all used up? What if you split the project into separate projects with 20 or 30 tracks each and see if that works?
It’s very common for people to use ASIO For All – freeware that seems to work with everything. I believe this is true regardless of DAW & interface. I use it with Podium & have never had any problems with the interfaces I have used. Worth a go.
I have had the same problem occur in the past, though infrequently. For the last year or two I’ve been able to render 2 hour files with no problem & I have no idea what changed. I do recall that real time rendering was a workaround, as mentioned above. Also, some plugins needed to have a new program saved prior to rendering.
Nice to receive praise as a discerning ear, levendis. 🙂
For all of the above, which i have not, & will not read in it’s entirety, Podium remains a pleasure to make music on. Get it? Make music. We’re not blaming our tools are we?
