Now with the beta3 running I’m getting strange behaviour when assigning audio inputs to tracks (sometimes after assigning).
Please send me a project file with the track setup that has the unwanted muted audio input.
Disregard my PM. I sent it to the info@ address
Ouch. It turns out that a fix I made in 1.99 regarding the multi-processing had the unfortunate side-effect that only one audio input can be active. I’ll get that fixed.
Thanks for bringing this to my attention.
Beta4 is available.
While searching for a fix for this I had a good look at the entire multi-processing code and managed to optimize some parts of the code. The bug should be fixed, and CPU usage is slightly optimized (both with and without multiprocessing enabled). I would appreciate if you could check that this beta is playing your projects as expected. If all is ok, I’ll probably release 2.00 this week.
ZynewaveKeymasterif I drag Stylus RMX onto a track, then right-click “Create Bounce Track” it creates a parameter track If I try to delete this parameter track using the menu, it creates a second one. No more, and I can delete them with the delete key, but this only happens with Stylus…
Thanks for the project file you emailed me. It turns out that Stylus reports it has 18719 parameters. This causes the Podium track menu (which shows all parameters in a submenu) to exceed the number of available menu IDs, and thus the parameter menus are confused with other menu commands such as the delete track command. I have added a limitation of 5000 on the parameter submenu to avoid this problem. You’ll still be able to access all 18000+ parameters in the inspector parameter panel list. Fix is available in the next 2.00 beta.

ZynewaveKeymasterOr can you use different bit depths for arrangements in the same project?
The bit resolution you specify in preferences is just the default resolution for new sounds. You can specify different bit format and resolution for each sound. Create a master arrangement and open the properties for the sound on the master bounce track. Set it to 16 bit. Insert a dithering plugin as the topmost effect in the master chain (do not adjust gain after the dithering plugin).

i am using expand mode
it is originally a mono wav file-panned hard left
if i insert a mono fx, does it remain panned hard left?
if not, how can i do this?
thanks
You need to apply the panning after the mono effect output. Either enable panning on the track with the mono effect or on a track above it.

ZynewaveKeymasterAre you using compact or expanded mode?
Are you routing a stereo source (stereo wav file or stereo plugin) into a mono plugin? If so, then both channels are combined to mono without regard to panning.

BTW, what is with the green square Podium logo on KVR?
That was the original logo I used when Podium was first announced on kvr. Ben apparently keeps it in his database and uses it every time a Podium update is announced.

I am also seeing strange engine freezes. Hitting the play button does nothing, but the engine still runs ‘as normal’. Turning the engine on and off fixes it.
I hope that is only when you’re using splonki or other problematic plugins.
Is there a reason podium doesn’t send blank buffers to plugins when playback stops? It seems to cause problems with a few plugins that have internal buffer sequencers.
Podium does send blank buffers when playback is stopped. Only when plugins are bypassed/muted will the processing not be called. I’m guessing the problem is how the plugins respond to transport state changes.
