ZynewaveKeymasterThe ‘Recording’ video is uploaded. This is the last video in this round. At a later time I may create more videos depending on user requests. I think I have most of the bases covered with these 5 videos.
The 1.00 release is pushed a couple of days, and so is the preorder offer. Don’t forget to take advantage of the preorder offer if you intend to join the ride!
ZynewaveKeymaster- ASIO bug fixes.
ZynewaveKeymasterAs I wrote to suges in a PM; If anyone got problems with their ASIO driver, go to the report page in the MIDI/Audio interfaces dialog and create a new report. I’ve added further error checks in this release.
ZynewaveKeymasterwould that be HiMiE?
You got the general idea, but it was on purpose that I wrote Himie. Gives it a kind of human touch. I’m not that fond of fancy technical word abbreviations.
If you don’t want to go the route of an abbreviation, how about using the word “nested”?
As suges indicated earlier in this topic, the word ‘nested’ does not appeal to everyone. But I got no problems if people would like to refer to tracks as being ‘nested’.
ZynewaveKeymasterGoogle HMx and you get 104000 hits. So much for the trademark. Somehow it also gave me the association of BMX bikes.
I would rather use a nickname that can be pronounced without spelling out the letters. How about ‘Himie’? 😉
ZynewaveKeymasterThe ‘External hardware’ video is now uploaded.
ZynewaveKeymasterHi,
from what I’ve experienced so far I think the total opposite! Stick to your vision, Frits… I’m sure this sequencer is gonna be great.
Thanks 8)
I only have one question so far – is it impossible to create send tracks (or “FX channels” as in Cubase)? If so, is this going to be implemented in version 1.0?
The traditional Aux/Bus/Send mechanism is not yet implemented. It is on the plan, but it won’t be ready the first month or two. When it is available it will be a free upgrade. To some extent you can use group tracks to e.g. send multiple tracks into one reverb, but it won’t allow setting an individual wet/dry for each track. Another option is to use some of the available send plugins, like Tobybears MixBox. Duncan has used it and wrote a little about it here.

Can anyone recommend another word for hierarchic? 😉
I am having difficulties myself with pronouncing hierarchic and I got to be careful every time I type it.
ZynewaveKeymasterHow about I just put a link to your post onto the front page 😉
I know what you’re saying, but I am a little wary of boasting too much here in the beginning. There still are some essential features missing that ‘professional’ users could not do without. With time I intend to advertise a little more agressively.

ZynewaveKeymaster- Bug fixes.
ZynewaveKeymasterHi zorikar,
You’re absolutely right. I can see by my webstats how the visitor count has boomed every time Podium is mentioned on kvr. However I don’t mind taking it slow here in the beginning. If I get a large number of users from day one, I risk being flooded with emails concerning the same problems or shortcomings of Podium. Also I need to get the videos done so a greater number of first-time visitors hopefully will be tempted to try out Podium.
Anyway, when 1.00 is released I will send a note to Ben at kvr.

ZynewaveKeymasterJust a short note to say that I took your advice and have just uploaded a new home page. The videos are now included on the home page. The home page now also contains a short sales pitch and I even threw in words like ‘unique’ and ‘innovative’ 😉
I hope you think this was an improvement.
ZynewaveKeymasterIs this just during startup, or are you saying that you cannot change the sample rate in Podium?
The default sample rate set in the interfaces dialog is the sample rate that Podium will initialize the soundcard with during startup. Whenever you activate monitoring of an arrangement that uses a different samplerate, then the soundcard will be reinitialized with this.
ZynewaveKeymasterAt least to me and those of us who come from the “simpler” sequencers like Cubase and Cakewalk
That comment made me go 😯 and then 😆
Thanks for your encouragement, I’ll carry on then 😉
ZynewaveKeymasterThanks for your feedback Dan,
Your front page is a little bland (functional yes) but bland
I agree. When I originally started the design of this site, I intended the home page to contain a list of the latest news. I since integrated this forum software and I have grown very fond of how it allows me to communicate with users. This has also become my preferred place to post news etc.
So I need to spice up the main page. Being a new company with a new product I cannot post pictures of awards and articles where famous people rave over how great Podium is.
I was thinking of dropping the two column format and moving the online videos from the presentation page to the home page alongside the screen shots. Also adding price info and direct link to download and purchase.
I will try to improve it for the 1.00 release.
I welcome any suggestions you may have.
