I think the iPhone version looks gorgeous but wouldn’t a multi-track audio app be limited without a Line in? (yes you can record directly I suppose but the quality is variable). Or are you planning to include some sound generators (instruments or sample players)?

Is there a way to reset the interface to defaults if you delete the wrong thing in the interface editor?

Thanks – I used the profile editor to add a scrollbar back. I don’t like the navigator so I’ve removed that to use less space – it just threw me that the scrollbar had been removed

Seems the time is right now? – all new PC’s seem to be sold with Win 7 these days, many 64 bit.

Also useful for less natural effects is to do this with automation.
I like to apply distortion, delay or reverb just to small sections sometimes. But having a different track for those would often result in the tail overlapping with the non-effected sections, when I really want it to cut off abruptly instead. So I just blend in the effect for a short time… Like in the good old days. 😆

Sonar has this “clip fx” feature too, I believe.

    So does Reaper

Would be good for Podium to have this.

True but if there’s going to be an export it would still be useful to have it in 2 speeds – offline and realtime, so there’s no need to bounce first at all.

Pity there is no realtime export option – would be useful to be able to do that for the whole project rather than having to realtime bounce per track then export.

Hmm, it’s difficult to keep everybody happy when changing the UI design.

    Beta 4 (the anti-bean-button edition):

    • The stop, play and record toolbar buttons are now circular shaped like most other toolbar buttons.

    • Added “slice button” and “stretch button” elements to the toolbar dialog. Placing the slice element before or after a button will make the button side rectangular instead of rounded. Placing one or more stretch elements after a button will widen the button.

    • Added an apply button to the toolbar dialog.

I don’t know if “slice button” is understandable. Let me know if you have a better description.

Glad you added those because I liked the stretched versions (beans) but the rounded version looks measly.

    Beta 3:

    • The title bar has an auto-hide option button when the window is maximized. When auto-hide is enabled the title bar can be shown by moving the mouse cursor to the top of the screen.

Doesn’t retain the option setting between sessions though.

Thanks that works nicely – I think I’ll save it as a track template

I can bounce while I’m playing?

I don’t want to bounce afterwards as (due to the problem I stated with Kore below) not all automation is being recorded so I want to record as much as possible to midi but also have a live audio capture of my playing

Up to you but I’m pretty sure NI are not going to fix this in the foreseeable future as they have stated it would break AU compatibility and they are not prepared to do that.

I assume the BeginEdit/EndEdit command is normally important so I’m wondering now how Acid gets away with not implementing it (assuming that’s the case) without repercussions?

Is it something that could be toggled on and off so I could record Kore but then switch back for other plugins?

You’d probably have Kore users flocking to you in droves if you implemented that – it’s like the holy grail 🙂

Now,acknowledging that the program hasn’t asked for any other input, how safe you feel about clicking Save Project?

The original project is of course safe, Podium/windows will force a folder verson (ie. H-Proj1_01) however you still have your second H-Proj1.pod file that you’re stuck with, regardless of whether you change the Project name or not.

I’ll make the project properties dialog pop up after you’ve created a new project from a template.

    That’s it +1

& Conquistador – You may realise but I would point out that an auto-save feature (if implemented) won’t work to well with Save Arrangement as… workflow. Cloning an arrangement before changing it would be the only option here.

Who hasn’t overwritten a document accidentally working this way?

I doubt I would ever feel safe with an auto save feature anyway
