Could you say if it is this year, at least?
Sorry, I can’t. I’ve tried making long-term development predictions before, but they rarely became true, so I prefer not to make any promises. Often the course of development is guided by discussions and suggestions on this forum.
Fair enough.
Although Podium is a bit isolated in this area compared to other hosts. Tracktion, Reaper, FL e.t.c all have video support in one way or another.
I would say even very basic video support (one format) would at least be a start. Video support along with Rewire are still very important features. Pretty much every other host has them.
If you don’t know when you will have time for video support please if possible consider at least basic support of some kind as it is a weak area in Podium (especially at v.2 almost) and while it may not be the top most issue for current users…potential buyers (which are of course of interest to you) looking for this feature in Podium, will very likely look elsewhere.
Reaper (very close to Podiums price point) already supports…
AVI, WMV, MPG and .MOV. as an example and has done for a very long time.
Please if possible do try and consider putting some time aside to look at this area for Podium, even a basic implementation of it to start. There are certain potential users that are likely to simply pass Podium by without video support especially when you look at the competition at your price point.
Just a thought.

Only thing it’s no good, that midi and audio clips are TOO agressive ( especially yellow and green) IMO
Maybe they do look a bit ‘bright’ perhaps less saturation will help or some other adjustment but I guess a user can easily change this. The current look of some of those tracks might even get them to check out the new colour options 😛
I do like the gradual colour change effect in the screenshot for the tracks.

Bingo. Same thing happened to me as well. I often use my host as a sketch pad for piano/keys and such long before starting to play/record items in the timeline. I think your observation and suggestion is a good one.
Cheers. 🙂 It is good to identify what the problem is now. Hopefully Frits can address this problem or refine the existing solution in Podium to make the process of getting sound out of it a bit more obvious.

Even now I sometimes forget to hit the power button and wonder why I’m getting no sound.
I am used to it now but I also still have to remember at times. Especially if I have just used another host..in my case P5 and Sonar.

There is this Quickstart created by ScamArtist.
Going way back in time for me there. That was the quick start guide that got me past my failed attempts to get sound out of Podium. 🙂 Yes it probably should be updated.
Nice timeline idea. 🙂
Sometimes the smallest adjustments can make the biggest difference.
