1) To fade in and out, you grab the top left and right handles on your audio clip and drag them. You can right-click on the fade-in/out to change the kind of fade you want.
You can also select an audio clip and call up the Sound Event Properties dialog (Shift+Enter), for more detailed editing.

2) Yes. You can copy and paste audio and midi clips to make loops. By default, Podium will paste things as a copy. You can tell when something’s copy because it will have a + sign next to its name. You can use the handles in the bottom left and right of the clip to crop the sound non-destructively. You can also convert a copy to a unique clip from the menu when you right-click on the clip.
Insert is the keyboard shortcut to create a phantom copy of selected audio/midi events at the next empty quantize point. Ctrl+Click drag events yields the same outcome. You can toggle between creating a phantom or unique copy of the event by tapping Ctrl while dragging ๐

Hello Azure,
I bought a soundcard bundled with SONAR X1 LE. I had a little play with it and was underwhelmed.
For me, Podium trumps it for work flow in the sequencer, hierarchical tracks showing clearly audio routing and midi control (including fx parameter automation), unlimited number of tracks, and spline curves add non-linear tension to sound shaping.
Try the demo though. The fx units are sweet.
Of course, selecting a DAW is based on personal preference. My advice is to try everything, including trackers. What fits you best will become apparent. It isn’t necessarily the one with the highest feature tally ๐
I hope this helps ๐
That would be a nifty feature, 4mica.
For the moment, you can quickly set the loop to events/patterns by selecting it and pressing ALT+L. I find this keyboard shortcut indispensable. Hit S on the keyboard to solo the selected track.

Fooled me. It could be the result of hiring some studio time. Proof that good music can be made with limited resources.

Justifiably so 8)

Thanks for the album.

Wouldn’t it be nice if . . . when you get a spanking new plugin of any sort, that you can add it globally to all projects or works in progress without having to go through and import to each one?
Click the ‘Devices – I/O, Busses, Plugins’ menu on the Project Start Page. There are 3 functions to quickly manage your plugin database in any project:
The Telenator has shone the light on something.
I just reinstalled ZebraCM and it created directories in *Program Files folder. I had neglected to run the installer and simply drag ‘n’ dropped the *.dll plugin file from a previous install of Windows.
The plugin works fine now that I have the following directories:

Navigate to (Disc Drive):The CM StudioPC SoftwarePlug-insZebra CM. The installer should be in a zipped file. At least this was the case on discs #12?-#170.
Note: This is version 1 of Zebra, not the cool modular synth of version 2.
Welcome GrahamWhitehead,
I couldn’t replicate the bug you’ve experienced. I loaded an instance of ZebraCM and stop/start playback worked as hoped. Stopping playback seems to trigger the release phase of the envelope. I switched presets and the release time differed, as expected.
An error message did spring up, however, when I attempted to load its interface. But only with imported presets. I could access the interface with a blank patch.
Testing the plugin in FL Studio I got the same outcome. An error message yet playback worked fine.
I have no idea what’s going on?! Nothing of the sort occurs with any other soft synth I’ve come across, including another of u-he’s synths, Diva. Though I only have a demo of that one.
I suggest that:
Sorry to not have a fix for you. At least you know it’s not just you ๐
Marvellous humanising controls, Frits. I am yet to get my head around the interplay between Velocity Value/Strength/Offset and love the Ctrl+Click+Drag sideways to shrink/expand the values.
This is the first I’ve noticed that tools can be set independently between Editor Profiles – nice.
Something I noticed with the new dialog boxes is that, as the knobs are turned, notes and keys in the note editor underneath are highlighted.
Thanks heaps Frits ๐
Lookin’ forward to your EP/LP!
Like 4mica, I love the mix of samples (and how you’ve contorted them).

No rush dudeโฆ when you’re ready.
I think the file you upload is transcoded for playback. I assume this because of the short amount of time for tracks to cache. This allows for uninterrupted streaming and renders the track preview quality.
When downloading tracks, however, the file format and size varies widely. Most likely it is the same quality as when originally uploaded. Have you tried downloading the track to see if the distortion is present in that file?
Hello MikaFrench31,
For devices with side input, compressors, vocoders etc., Podium will create a multitimbral instance.
Some vocoders load in effect slots. If that’s the case you need to use Podium’s bus devices.

If you want the new arrangements in the same project, you can use the “new arrangement as track copy” context menu for the arrangement in the listbox on the project page. If you want a new project, then just create a copy of your project, open the copied project and delete all your audio and timeline events. Once you have something you want to use as a starting point for future projects, you can then save this as a project template (project > project templates > save project as template).
You can also save Track Templates. I haven’t tried it but making one from the Master Track might achieve the same outcome?!
