I realise this is an old thread but I wanted to add another vote for the addition of time code sync support in Podium.

I was talking to a colleague who wanted to be able to control program changes in external MIDI hardware from a sequencer synced to time code. I initially suggested Podium as I know it has good support for external MIDI hardware, but then I found out it doesn’t sync to external time code.

The addition of time code sync would be a great benefit for people working with MIDI in post production.

    Cheers,

    Malcolm.

    Hi Frits,

Just tested 2.03. Fixes and the ReWire implementation are great! Happy to say I’ve finally become a Podium owner. 🙂

    Cheers,

    Malcolm.

Thanks Frits. I look forward to trying the new demo.

Thanks also for your help with setting up stereo routing from ReWire. I’m slowly getting my head around Podium’s mapping. 🙂

    Cheers,

    Malcolm.

    Hi Fritz,

Congratulations on adding ReWire support! I saw the announcement over at KVR and downloaded the demo to try it out.

Having spent a few hours with the demo, I have the following bug reports for you:

    • The MIDI data for “Sustain” does not appear to be getting through to the ReWire device. My controller passes sustain information correctly to VSTi’s within Podium, but the same data does not get through to Reason 4.

    • When I create a new Instrument in Reason, I get an error message in Podium that says “Reason ReWire error: Invalid parameter (GetControllerInfo)”.

Apart from these bugs everything else seems to work fine, and I like how easy it is to launch a ReWire session.

Most of my ReWire instruments are stereo. When I look at the list of returns the only stereo pair appears to be for channels 1 + 2 (Mix L+R). Is it possible to link a pair of returns from a ReWire device to a stereo track?

    Cheers,

    Malcolm.
