    One more minor coment…
The fact that you can drag the right hand side of the zoom area is not very discoverable if it starts zoomed out. Could the slightly darker grey dragable bits (splitter bars) on the right and left sides always be there even when fully zoomed out, i.e. not disappear behind the edges.
I think this would help newbs discover the feature better.

Just to say again this is a very nice new feature, makes podium feel much more sexy and glitzy!!

    Cheers,
    Mike G

    Excellent. 😀
I thought there must be something, just didn’t fiond it. Whenever people post to ask for shortcut keys and shortcuts frits has usually already thought of it…
    Thanks

    Hi All,

Not sure if this is the right place for this post, maybe should be on its own thread but it was related in my mind…

How about this, you have several effects that you use often and so you make a track template out of it. (say a stack of 4 effects with all their settings… eq, reverb, distortion, chorus)
But what if the track template could be “grouped” (like grouping drawing objects in MS word) and then used as a VST plug-in in it’s own right?
This grouped thingy would be called a composite plug-in and I suppose it would have to be stored in your project template or something.
Maybe you could even pick some parameters from the plug-ins used inside the composite plug-in and expose them as the “main tweaky bits”.

Just an idea, what do you think?

    Thanks,
    Mike G

    Nice, thanks frits.

One very minor suggestion, when you click outside the zoom range, I feel the default should be to keep the same vertical position as previously, not to set the top of the zoom range to where you clicked.
If you did want to scroll the vertical zoom it feels like you should scroll down after clicking.

    Thanks,

    Thanks for pointing that out.
Aggree with the creativity killer sentiment, it is something that I stumble into often.

    ANS: Theoretically yes.
But, it’s hard to imagine becuase it’s quite different from the current workflow.
I suppose also we have to consider that your suggestion while it doesn’t sound like it will take lots of development effort it will have huge effect of every single podium user… not something to do lightly!

Key combinations may make it harder for newbs as they are hard to discover.
Having said that I also think this possibly might be a better idea for newbs becuase I remember it took me a while to find out that to do some stuff you had to switch tools, either becuase I’m particularly think or becuase it’s a little unintuitive.
I wonder if combining this suggestion with something like right-click menus would help with discoverability.

Q: Can you do what you can with the scalpel with the pencil tool? (i.e. Split audio and midi events)
BTW I’m talking about all parts of podium (arrangement window too) not just piano roll.

When i hover over [M] [R] buttons on my track in arrangement or mixer there is no “popup” or “Panel” help displayed.
The same options however do have help when hovered from within the track inspector.
Gain and pan controls have no popup help anywhere.

    Thanks,

    Here’s another!

A bit more eighties than i’d intended.

I had lots of fun making it, and less painfull thanks to all great patches that I really just browsed and did minor tweaks to.

    Mp3:Nucleum Only MikeG.mp3
    Pod:Nucleum Only.pod

Ohh and sorry about the singing on the mp3! (None nucleum instrument!?)

    Thanks,

When editing a loop would be useful to have an incision (i.e a split made with the scalpel tool) that is “movable” also would be good if it had an editable crossover value (i.e. 0 – 0.5 secs)

When comping it would be good if I could set a short loop running and move the “incision” location back and forth until it sounds good.

Could be implemented as a temporary “incision” (i.e. Can move “incision” point only until let go of mouse button) or could be a permanent “splitter” widget.
For my purposes either would be fine. In some ways temp splitter might be more flexible allowing you to tweak crossfades etc. afterwards.

    Had another crash.

Not lost as much work this time as I’m saving lots at the moment.

    But just for your info…

I had all audio tracks (no midi)

Only plug-ins loaded were zPEQ and zReverb (a few instances of both) and also eraticCM, free drum machine from computer music.
There was no midi data on this drum track but the plug-in was loaded.

Not sure when the crash happened, all I had been doing was audio recording. We had been recording for > 1 hour and had been making freqent “Save all changes”.

I think the crash happened when I started loop recording a small section of an existing audio track but I’m not sure what I was clicking at the exact time of the crash. (Must remember to screen shot next time!)

Is there anything I can do to help find the cause of the crash?

I have windows error reporting switched off, will turning it on and getting memory dumps help?

    Thanks,
    Mike G

Any idea as to what caused the crash?

No not really, had quite a few plug ins loaded but all my usual stuff.

Autosave is on the future plan.

    Great news.

    Thanks,
    Mike G
