Hi Sam,
I had a similiar problem with my firestudio on win7 x64. It is probably a problem of the presonus drivers. You can try another firewire stack/driver. Disconnect your firebox and right click your firewire adapter in the device manager. Choose “update driver” -> “Browse my computer…” -> “Let me pick…” and try the 1394 OHCI legacy driver.
This solution worked for me (the crackles disappered) but it was not what I would call “stable”. Luckily Presonus released an updated driver (still beta) for the firestudio and almost everything seems to work now.
Nice! Track->group dragging works like a charm now. Fantastic upgrade 🙂

Press Alt-L! Or select “Set Loop Around Selection” from the right-click menu on the loop region above the timeline.
😕 I’ve looked around and didn’t find it! Right-clicking in the loop region is somehow obvious and somehow a good hideout. Anyway, thanks thcilnnahoj.
I’ve tested Beta 3 and it seemed to work as expected but I’m not 100% happy with the snapshot feature.
The snapshot feature would be more useful for me if it only remembers the zoom settings and not the view position. Instead the zoom should be centered around the edit cursor. This would allow me to set zoom settings for “edit crossfades” and for “arranging parts” for example. Maybe someone else thinks this is useful? Can this be added as an option for the feature?
Shortcuts would also be very important for that feature. I guess it is intended to speed up zooming so a shortcut would be a lot faster than seek&click 🙂
A small feature request which doesn’t really fit in this: can we have something like “loop selection”? I often edit a specific part/event and want to loop that. It would be nice to select a part/event and loop that with a single keystroke.
IMO thats not possible in Podium but Topten’s Cantabile is able to do so. Consider this tool as a swiss-army-knife for VST live-performances. It is a really cool thing and there is a free lite version too. I’m a user of the solo version and it has midi filters to perform keyboard splits.
greetings

Tiny aesthetics thing: If the track name is longer than the mixer strip is wide and it gets cut off, there is always still a little padding space on the left side, but not on the right.
I hereby declare you Knight Bugalot for thousends of hunted and slayed bugs! You’ve been very brave to the podium empire, thiclnnahoj! Just wanted so say: thanks and happy new year to everyone! 🙂
Hey Frits,
some wishes for zPEQ: it would be nice to have some values for gain and phase angle on the y-axis in the curve. Probably just for the full-size editor. Also a small graphical switch for the phase curve would be nice. The EQ would be more useable this way while gaining a more “professional look” 🙂
Another thing (which is probably general problem): If the EQ is deleted (Alt+Click) and one uses the undo function to bring it back, all EQ-settings are lost.
Hi,
I think effects for slices or parts are a good idea. If this feature gets implemented some day I would like to have a small button in the slice. Thats how this feature is implemented in many other DAWs or video-tools, e.g. Samplitude and Reaper (i think). IMO a context menu is difficult to handle.
Btw: If anyone has a presonus device (e.g. firestudio 26×26): there is some kind of hack to get the device to work with windows 7 x64. You have to use another firewire driver. I still have some minor glitches with my firestudio but at least it works and I can get some audio through it.
No. “ProAudio video low latency” seems to be a DELL-only feature. What does it do?
Hmm I think the source & input buttons are too big…this is especially for the mixer. I think they are big in the rack too but thats probably a question of taste. I would prefer a smaller look. I love the new functionality of the rack but I was more into the old rectangular look (its a bit late for this but It took some time to test it).
