I am sorry about the delay. I started a major revision of the plugin loading system, which I believe will fix the problem you see with Kontakt. In the process of this work, I’ve updated my developer tools and I’ve begun to take advantage of recent enhancements to the C++ programming language. This has made me extend the scope of my revisions for the next release. On top of that, I’ve been hired to work on another software project for the last couple of months, which will help fund my future development of Podium.
The plugin multiprocessing mode has a slight latency overhead due to the way the processing is distributed to multiple cores. This means a very low ASIO latency can produce overloads. If possible, try to increase the ASIO buffer size, and see if the overloads goes away.
I think I’ve fixed this now. It was due to the recent WordPress 4.0 update, which introduced a conflict with the bbPress forum plugin.
I agree it’s one of the major features that Podium is lacking. Eventually I’ll get there. No estimate yet, sorry.
Did you get this issue resolved? On my machine there is no problem with downloading. If possible, try using a different browser.
You should not assign the Kontakt instance to the group track, but instead assign the MIDI and audio channel mappings to child tracks within the group track. You can set that up quickly by dragging e.g. the ‘Kontakt 5 #1’ folder from the devices panel onto the blank area below the last track lane. If you need multiple global Kontakt instances, or special arrangements of mono/stereo channels, you’ll need to use the ‘New Instance’ context menu and edit the mappings within the instances.
I’ve given it some thought, and at the moment I think changing the behavior of the parameter track record toggle buttons will make things too complex. Maybe you are familiar with the ’embedded editor parameters’ feature, that you can enable with the check button in the inspector parameter panel. This allows you to add parameter controls to the mixer strips that are not automated, but at the moment these parameters are not available on control surfaces. This would be the better solution I think, so I would prefer not to implement workarounds on the parameter track behavior. Unfortunately extending the control surface support is still quite low on my todo list.
I also have a separate question: Do we as users own all rights to the music we create in the Free version?
Of course you do, at least concerning Podium Free. You’ll need to make sure any samples you use are not infringing copyrights.
Depends on how the AD2 plugin was imported. If it is like NI Kontakt, then there could be both stereo mappings named “Out 1+2” etc. as well as mono mappings named “Out 11”, “Out 12” etc. You may have to edit the mappings to match the mono/stereo setup you have configured in the AD2 plugin.
No need to reinstall Podium, unless you need to switch x86/x64 version. Nucleum for example is only available in a 32-bit version (x86), which means you cannot use it with Podium x64.
If you are using Podium 3.2.4, you can generate a debug log, which will help me identify the problem. Here’s a description:

Have you previously managed to run Podium successfully with other ASIO drivers, such as asio4all?
Hi,
I recommend using jBridge only if you absolutely must use plugins that are not available in the x86/x64 format matching the Podium version. If you only use 32-bit plugins, I recommend sticking to the non x64 version of Podium. Using jBridge can be tricky, and you need to run Podium in administrator mode.

Can you give me a link to the free Waves plugin you are trying to use?
