ZynewaveKeymasterI like the change but…will we still be able to access undo history?
Of course. The undo/redo menu buttons are still available, so your setup will not change unless you load the default setup. And as I described above, the standard undo/redo buttons can now also show the history menu.
ZynewaveKeymasteri don’t understand how your suggestion works. i look at the bar/beat in the transport toolbar but it does not indicate verse. if i look at the tempo indicator i do not see verse 1 or 2, etc.
What I described was a suggestion of how it could be implemented. Currently it is only the timesig/tempo that is shown in the transport toolbar. This field could be widened to show timesig/tempo on the bottom line of the field, and marker name on the top line.
i also noticed that if the engine is not running and i move the time line…. the marker name changes at the left time sig/bpm each time the marker passes. this is the way i think the marker should work?
Both the marker name and the timesig/tempo written to the left of the lanes are hints to the events prior to the start of the zoomed time range. This is useful information when you are editing events on the timeline. Your request to see the marker at the play cursor is useful during playback, hence my suggestion that this info could be shown in the transport toolbar.

frits, the diamond bundle you are demoing must be 5.0 or 5.2. as i said, there is no problem there. it is new plugs that are 5.7 and higher.
SAW, reaper and tracktion are accepting these new plugs. both saw and reaper developers also do not have ilock. i only mention this to indicate there must be a way to overcome this…….i hope.
do you want a copy of my waveshell 5.7 and 5.9.5?
I’ll have a look at the waveshell technology once the 1.96 release is done. If it is not too timedemanding, I’ll try to add native support for the waveshell.
I doubt that having just the 5.7 waveshell will help me, and I also fear it could corrupt something if I try to mix a regular waveshell dll with the Diamond demo plugins.
ZynewaveKeymasterhaving the marker change name as the play cursor passes it? it really makes sense.
I don’t agree. The marker name and the time signature/tempo text on the lane below were intended as visual clues to the zoomed time range, like the bar/beat and time labels on the timeline ruler. In the case of the timesig/tempo you have an indicator in the transport toolbar to show what is active at the play cursor. If you want an indication of the active marker at the play cursor, then this could be shown next to the tempo indicator in the transport toolbar.

ZynewaveKeymasterSounds weird. So you are holding a chord on your keyboard, and the notes recorded by Podium stops before you release the chord?

Just missing that extra bit of color on the track headers, gotta have that back!
You can have it back. Just set the “track header color opacity” in the tracks region properties.
ZynewaveKeymasterConstantly scrolling up and down a busy arrangement just to deactivate a Solo button to hear the rest of a mix is a needless waste of time
You can Shift+Click the solo/mute buttons or press Shift+S/M. This will toggle solo/mute on the track and reset solo/mute on all other tracks. So if your current track is not soloed you would press Solo and then Shift+Solo to clear all soloed tracks.

ZynewaveKeymasterAny idea why Podium is trying to access the internet during a scan?
Podium does NOT contain any code that accesses the internet. It must be a plugin that attempts the internet access, either deliberately or indirectly as a consequence of the crash. If you add the TAL-U-No-what to the quarantine list, does the OneCare pop up the warning on subsequent scans?

Hi Frits , a little problem , i can add a track template in the middle of the other tracks (rigth click etc…), but nor at the bottom??? 🙁
The track template submenus are temporarily removed from the new track menu at the bottom. It will be back when I add the template menus to the new compact mode.
ZynewaveKeymasterAlso is there a chance of changing the undo/redo buttons so that a left-click undoes and redoes a single action (as normal) and a right-click brings up the time menus?
I agree that this approach is better than the dedicated undo/redo menu buttons. The regular undo/redo buttons can now open the edit history menu by pressing Alt+z/y, shift+clicking or right-clicking the buttons. I’ve changed the default toolbar layout back to using the undo/redo buttons instead of the undo/redo menu buttons. Coming in Podium 1.96.

I’m not too comfortable with the detached track inspector. It seems too “global” if you get what I mean. It seems it has more to do with the entire project rather than pertaining to the particular ‘take’ you are working on. I think moving it back to an internal sliding column would be better as surely it would still have the same benefits?
I understand what you mean by “too global”. I’ve been thinking about ways to embed it at the left edge of the arrangement editor page, but I have not found a layout that blended well with the top page tabs. Using the “Inspector” tab at the top to hide/show the inspector has the benefit that the hidden inspector does not occupy the space used by the sliding cover in the old embedded inspector. Another reason why I chose the separate page layout, is that I intend to add a similar top toolbar to the “List” page at the right edge. This toolbar will have controls for setting preview level etc.
ZynewaveKeymasterI understand and admire your focus on the current Compact mode, but why not add those “Free G” type of features (standard in some hosts) to Podium, now that you are focusing and making plenty of changes in that area?
Because it will take time to implement those new features. What I’m doing this time around is to make all existing functionality found in expanded mode available in compact mode (track templates and drag-reordering effect tracks comes to mind).

I too have been a bit dismayed by some of the changes to a UI i was very comfortable with.
I’ve been trying to get to like compact mode (too much horizontal confusion which can blur the distinction between tracks) with the possibility of losing expanded mode at some time. Please try the new beta6. I’ve added four new options to the tracks region properties dialog:
“Show track color bar at right edge of header”
“Show pan and gain sliders instead of dials”
“Show effect chain on header”
“Set minimum track height to fit contents”.If you disable these options you end up with a header layout that is very close to the old expanded mode.

1. Moving a track with an Instrument mapping on it and effect tracks within the same track chain panel (compact mode) to a new group, causes the effect tracks to disappear completely.
Fixed, thanks.
2. Sometimes right clicking on a track header and choosing “Properties” resulted in a blank unnamed parameter track being created. It appears to happen on midi tracks.
I can’t reproduce this. Please see if you can pinpoint how to reproduce it.
3. Creating a bounce track at times resulted in the Effect tracks within a track chain panel being moved into the bounce track’s chain panel.
All effect tracks above the position where you insert the bounce track will be displayed in the bounce track lane header since they are processed after the bounce track.
ZynewaveKeymasterBoth the API and SSL demos require an iLok. I don’t have an iLok. I would rather avoid having to plug an iLok into my development PC. I just don’t trust it.
Aren’t there any of the plugs in the Diamond bundle that you have problems with?
I’m looking at the demo downloads on this page:
