Do I have the idea, or is it something else that you meant?
This does not ring a bell, sorry. If you refer to the ‘Assignment of multiple mappings to one track’ in the future page, then this has to do with assigning e.g. multiple plugin mappings to the same track, so you can avoid creating multiple nested tracks if you want to create an effects chain.

hey Spoon,
I’ve asked for a prelistening-function month ago during beta-testing
and afaik it’s on the todo since then 😉 😀
Yeah, I didn’t forget about this. As I remember it you asked for a preview button in the file open dialog. What I think spoonboiler wants is a full-blown media browser. Seems like a good idea.
I was just about to suggest you use the Windows file explorer as your audition window. If you ‘Enable Web contents in folders’ in the Folder Options dialog, you get a miniature player embedded in the explorer window when you select a sound file. I then realized this won’t work because Podium locks the soundcard 🙄
So I guess I have to implement a ‘Media file browser’ window. Kind of like what you have in Acid. I can’t promise you this within the first month. I do intend to fairly soon implement direct dragging of sound files onto tracks, and at that time will probably do some experiments with a browser window.
Thanks for your encouraging words Eli 8)
I’ll try to assimilate your list into my future plan 😉
Some comments:
-splitting clips
Not sure what you mean here. The scalpel tool can be used to split sequence events.
-another name then podium >> somthing aluding on “flow” ….
Podium has had many names over the years. I’ve spent a lot of time trying to come up with a unique name. I settled for Podium because it is short, simple, has a musical relation, and is to a certain extent multi-lingual.
a way that you can switch seamless arrangements via a list
If you just want to switch arrangements quickly, you can use the list in the Project Wizard.
Frits
Would be great if you could find these problems with free plugins. Currently my finances don’t allow me to purchase every plugin that causes problems in Podium 😥
Are you using eXT as insert or global plugin?
I have experienced that some plugins have problems when using multiple instances. Changing parameters in one plugin instance will change/corrupt the preset in the other instance etc.
Damn. Well I can at least check out the window resize problem. So you have tried both with program and bank library presets?
I just downloaded eXT. Will try it tomorrow.
Dropping files in Podium will currently only place them at the top project level. Support for dropping wav and mid files directly onto tracks are on the plan.
Also why isn’t it possible to preview and open audiofiles from the object list.
Would you like a context menu with an option to open a sound editor window, or how would you like it to behave? By preview, you mean a play button/menu in the object list?
But while you pointed out the price, discount implies it is lower than some other price. What would the NON-discounted price be?
I’ve only hinted at the final price in other topics, so these are my current plans: (Euro prices include VAT. US$ price based on current exchange rate and excl. VAT)
After 1.10 I hope to stay at this base price. Any major new features added in the future I plan to offer as add-on licenses. A very rough estimate is that add-on licenses will appear with v1.50 maybe 6 months from now. This all depends on how sales turns out.
I wouldn’t dream of relying on PayPal as the only payment option. Currently I have signed up with both Share-It and PayPal, and I probably will offer the option to use either of the two on the shop page.
Or do you take a vacation?
Va-ca-tion? 😕
I’m working 80+ hours a week on this thing. A quick look out the window is all the vacation I need. 😉
heh, no I meant that it cost ME five bucks, not you!
What’s five bucks between friends 😉
Like I said, I like PayPal, I have used them many many times now, and it would not cost you the extra 3.9 % because I don’t use a credit card with them, just my bank account. Do I understand that correctly?
I think so. I haven’t tried their shop setup yet, so I will know more later.
It’s not a simple thing to implement, so bring it up again in a couple of months. With all the other stuff on my plate at the moment, implementing time-warped time-locked dynamically switchable linearity tempo-events will only give me a head-ache right now 😯
When you use the ‘convert to param spline’ menu on a selection of events, they are simply converted but not digitized. The length of the tangents are set to zero to make them behave exactly as param line events initially. You then need to drag the handles to apply ‘softness’ to the curve.
If you want to digitize the points making up a curve, you should select the segment which you want to convert and then use the ‘digitize spline curve segment’ menu. This is the same function that gets called when you hold the control key while releasing the mouse after drawing a curve.
as to when per channel eq on audio enable tracks was going to be added, or even if (as it is not in the scheduled updates?)
I cannot make any promises regarding this. As you note yourself, it is far down on the list, but that may change. If I implement it along with other built-in DSP effects, I may decide to release it as a cheap add-on license, to keep the base price of Podium low (as discussed in this topic).
VST automation other than standard MIDI
This will happen within a month.
