Thanks.
I now added the rack section and uploaded correct screenshots. It’s now ready for review and corrections (especially the fixme-tagged stuff that I’m not sure about)!http://www.zynewave.com/wiki/doku.php?id=guide:track_inspector
Many thanks. I really appreciate your contributions. I’ll review the chapter later this weekend.
Sample rate conversion is something I’m going to add to Podium, hopefully within a few months. It’s going to be the next step towards implementing full time-stretch support. At the moment I am focusing on getting the Podium guide completed, along with some minor UI consistency updates. After that is done, I’ll get back to working on major new features.

There is a problem exporting audio. When you bounce the master track and then you finally export it, there shouldn’t be any problem. But if after exporting the first time if, ie, you shorten the song from five minutes to four, bounce again, and export it overwritting the last file name, actually it isn’t overwritted, they’re only overwritted the first 4 minutes keeping the last minute of the first time you exported it.
I think this behaviour is inherited from bounce/region bounce.
I think that may be because the bounce sound is not cropped to the shortened bounce event. I will fix this at some point.

This video’s music was made entirely in Podium. It only features few D16 synths and fx, nothing more, you will see them in the mixer. No eq and no compression, only a small limiter in the master.
The video was recorded with a single cheap camera and while learning Vegas demo.
And yes, the guy in the video it’s me (and no, usually I don’t wear chains, (it’s a fantasy video), that’s my pc, my city, my car and my roommate’s XXXXXX enjoy 🙂
😆
Fabulous. I’ll add that as a favorite to my YouTube channel later on.
And, if I’m not mistaken, we have the same headphones. The AKG K701.
So, if you have an arrangement where you have recorded some distorted sounds with the ASIO driver, and you then switch to the Wave driver, does the arrangement play back fine without distortion?

I got around to updating the inspector chapter a bit. I’m not done yet with some things (haven’t started yet on the rack), but all relevant info from the old page should be there, so I hope you don’t mind me putting an unfinished version up.
Looking good 🙂
I totally messed up with the screenshots this time. 😳 Please delete all the images called “inspector_xxx_panel…”
The images “inspector_2010_08.png” and “inspector_rack_2010_08.png” are fine and don’t need to be deleted. Sorry for the trouble!
Done.
Noticed some things during testing:
I’ll fix those issues for the next release.
As a test, try to use the Wave driver instead of ASIO, to see if you get the same kind of distortion. You’ll need to set a high buffer size to get Wave driver to work without glitches.
Hi,
I am using the RME HDSP PCI version on a Windows Vista PC. When I click the “driver setup” button, the “Hammerfall DSP Settings” dialog appears. If you haven’t already done so, check RME’s website for updated drivers:
http://www.rme-audio.de/en_downloads.php
On the HDSP page there are some important notes for Windows 7 installation.
If the speed is wrong in the wav file, then it could be because the sound files are recorded using a different samplerate than the samplerate you have selected in the arrangement properties dialog.

Also, I think if the automation curve used the track color instead of timeline text color, it’d be less obtrusive.
Somehow I get a feeling of déjà vu – was there some problem with it that I just can’t remember about…?
I assume you are referring to the curve color used on the space between curve sequence events. Is the problem that it stands out too much? 😮 . I have a deja-vu of a topic where we discussed how to make the curve more noticeable.
Can some of you describe the things you want to do in an external audio editor, which cannot be done in the Podium sound editor?
That’s very kind of you.
The simplest method would be to send money to my PayPal account.

The competition is now closed. Thanks for all the contributions.
There were 25 replies. I went to the http://www.random.org website, entered 1 to 25, pressed Generate, and the result that came out was 18. Counting the posts from the start, this means that Shifrin is the winner of the free license.
All the other competition participants will receive an email with a special offer on a Podium license purchase.
If you have comments about the features that have been suggested in this topic, you are welcome to continue replying to this topic.

I have uploaded a video that demonstrates MIDI file audition and dragging MIDI files onto the note editor:
Frits, any chance you could make that collection of midi chords and patterns your using in the vid available? I’d find those useful 😀
Thanks,
Mart.
I’ve uploaded the files to this page:
http://www.zynewave.com/wiki/doku.php?id=miscellaneous:index
I had to change the file names for the patterns, because the bullet character, that you see in the video, was not allowed in zip files.

I reproduced a crash, just try to drag and drop an audio input to an empty track. It crashes always.
Fixed. Thanks.
