Yesssss !
Me too.
Is there a shortcut to switch between the modular and compact mode ?
Could the Arrangement Compact view could be used with the compact mode and the Modular view with the normal arrangement ?
Could the mode be saved in screensets ?
• Fix: The merge sequence command was not working properly when used in arrangements configured for linear time resolution.
Thanks A LOT !!!
some first impressions :
New Track problem, in both modular and compact modes :
– if I create a new arrangement with a any number of default tracks, including 0, there is no track, and I cannot create new ones
– if I open an arrangement which has already some tracks which are childs I cannot create new ones
– in the same arrangement, if I change the hierarchy position of one track I can create new ones
– in all cases I can create new effects tracks or bounce tracks with the right click option in the Inspector, so just the New track option via menu or shortcut is affected
– in modular mode there is no more hierarchy number in the Track Properties
Automation :
I appreciate that I can now record automation of more than one plugin in a chain and that all the automation tracks are grouped and show the waveform !
But in compact mode it is not obvious to do because :
– there is no indication that a track is in record mode if it is hidden
– a R button must be available together the X and E buttons in the Inspector
– something must be visible on the track
Others :
– when I create one or more track FX there is no indication on the track itself that it has FX or not
– in the Inspector it is not obvious to have to select a track with the little left edge, it must be more intuitive to do it when I click on the name and to open the insert menu with an arrow at its right edge or with the right click menu
As always I am sorry for my bad english and my laborious explainations…
Together with “snap to edges” it will be perfect 🙂
(I spend a lot of time to put audio and automations events together, side to side and to avoid that there is a gap and they don’t overlap…)
Thanks !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Automap is plugin relative and works in Podium like in any host.
But if you want to use the Remote SL to control Podium itself you will have to wait for a generic control surface support.
OK
One year later : since the audio part is solved, is there any chance ?
I noticed one thing in automation. When automation track finished and the last value of some parameter was not zero, why it after finishing this track become to zero anyway?Maybe it should stay on this position?
Yes, it has been discussed and I hope also that Frits will add a Preferences option to keep the last value…
To avoid this I often use MIDI events, but the plugin must of course support MIDI controllers.
Note that you can define another default value than 0 if it can help.
Yes, I know now the price !…
It is what I thought.
So the answer is “perhaps at some point when I will have no more thing to improve in Podium” ? 😉
Thanks Frits for all these explainations.
This new track system definetly seems to be a big step forward for the plugins use.
And the zGrid will be perfect for parallel routing…
I’m waiting to try it 😉
You could have just developed the ZGrid instead.
With that plug we would have had no need for so many recent changes to the GP and the the arranger. We would have had a chainer built in that would have brought track levels down massively.
I would guess you could have then moved straight on to timestretching as well.
This may be just my opinion of course but….does anyone else agree with that?
Yes 😉
But I suppose that there are other less obvious things for us that have made Frits choose this way.
I don’t know if the zGrid plugin would have solved the “muted track automation during record problem” and other difficulties related to the bottom position in the hierarchy of the audio tracks ?
We have better to wait until there is a beta of the new track system.
All of this seems very good indeed.
But it is hard to imagine how it works without trying…
Good luck Frits !
