Well, whatever the problem was… is not there anymore.
Not in Podium 3.2.3 demo.
But it is still present in Podium Free. the same project, same settings.
Something must have been changed along the way, even though I could have sworn it happened the other day in Podium Demo too. I might be wrong though…
So, it’s working ok in version 3.2.3. it seems, no unwanted start/stop.
Hi Frits,
I tried filtering out sys-ex messages from going to the MIDI OUT of the keyboard, but either that filter either does not work, or this is not a sys-ex message.
I do not have many other filters I could apply.
I asked thinking that this is a Podium thing, as this does not happen in any other host I tried.
It’s not terrible bothering, as I don’t use it in that mode often, but it’s something I don’t understand.
Thanks for replying.
I don’t know if what you try to do is to run at the same time both Tracktion and Podium, with the same driver. If so, it will not work.
You can use either Tracktion OR Podium, not both.
Sorry if this is not what you’re saying.
I am so very sorry to read such news – it is always a great loss when a friend is passing away, even if an ”internet friend”! RIP Slomo
Condolences to the family and friends!

Well, you’ll do what’s best, and I do not know how the download/register procedure is now for Independence (I saved a version I downloaded from YellowTools site a while ago), but I have to say this IS the BEST freeware sound module I’ve tried. It really is. In my opinion, would be a pity to miss it. Also, when I installed both this and UVI there were no problems once the installation was completed.
Very good list, I do have most of them and works great with Podium Free.
Here are some more vsts I use with Podium Free and find them to be very good. The only issues I’ve ever had were with EpicVerb from VOS, when it was quarantined. I’ve never went back to check with the new DAW I have now.
I don’t know if these were mentioned before, if so, just ignore.
http://www.uvi.net/en/software/uvi-workstation.html – great workaround for adjusting loops tempo and not only
http://reaper.fm/reaplugs/index.php – great package, includes a multiband compressor and a multieffect (FIR) great for noise reduction

Thank you, it’s working!
I did play around with Adjust Timing, but obviously not enough! 😉
Nice! I appreciate your advice and example Levendis.
It just proves that Podium indeed is great. And it’s users too!
Adi
Thanks Levendis.
Of course there are workarounds. Mine was to simply redraw the offending notes, or simply adjust their length, and of course most of the times overlapping is alright, but at times a length quantize would be very useful. Without it is just a… lengthier process! 😉
All the best!
Adi
Hi,
Is there a way to quantize the length of the notes, so the overlap can be prevented? I did not find a way, in Podium Free… I might’ve just missed it.
My own experience with this has tought me some very important things.
I have an E-MU 0404 usb 2.0, that I use with the original E-MU ASIO driver. I also just recently changed to a new computer, which also has the Win7 on it.
In order to avoid problems, I ALL THE TIME need to follow this procedure:
1. Turn on the keyboard controller
2. Turn on the interface (E-MU audiocard, which stays connected all the time to a back USB port)
3. Open Podium
4. Do the work
5. Close Podium
6. Turn off the interface
7.Turn off keyboard.
Anything else, or wrong steps will take me inevitably to the complete lock-up of the computer. The only solution after that is a forced restart, which I hate doing.
The E-MU drivers, in my case at least, both with old computer with WinXP, but also on the new one, have been very tricky. Not bad necessary (I can go down to 2-4 ms latency) but very easy to upset. That will translate into no sound, no MIDI activity, cracks and pops, and the worse – computer lock-up. If it wasn’t for the amazing quality of the converters, I would have changed to something else. But I love those and I stick to it for now.
Un-plug and plug back the USB cable never helped in my case. Also I know it is about this particular E-MU card, as the other PCI card, M-Audio Audiophile 2496 never ever gave me any problems.
So, if I wanted a wav in my mix that will serve as a refference (I don’t want it to be affected in any way by any of the effects I’m adding in the master track) I simply add another master track, I place it in there and it goes directly to the audio out? Cool.
Thanks.
As much as I like trying new things, I have already so many (too many) plugins, all freeware but the best out there (thank you for pointing some to me, Tele) so I will not give this ones a try. I am sure they will be an interesting run for who ever is ready to test!
Thanks,
Adi
