When comping it would be good if I could set a short loop running and move the “incision” location back and forth until it sounds good.

That sounds like a fantastic idea !
+1 Great suggestion Mike!

It’s all great so far… the only exception being scale highlighting. It gets awfully cluttered when used together with black key highlighting.
Unfortunately, I have no suggestions for improvement to offer right now, other than just don’t use both options at once. 😕
What about being able to choose a colour for the scale?
Nice mock-up 🙂
I like this idea and have mentioned it my self in the past …maybe not so well detailed. 😉
Lots of different applications use the Zoom Window concept. Your suggestion for the location is pretty good too, provided you have the screen realestate, which it is clear that you do 😯

I would prefer if it is always possible to assign input devices multiple times!
Hey Ronin,
You can clone any input device by copying it and creating a new instance. This way you can send MIDI to multiple instruments at the same time.
Perhaps then save it as part of your default project template.
Frits explained it somewhere here a while ago so you could try searching for it.

You can double-click there too 🙂
Hi all,
Just thought I’d chime in 🙂
I use Kaspersky and I have noticed that even when “disabled at start-up”, Kaspersky runs a service (avp.exe) that causes the slow load/unload times for Podium.
However if I run KAV (control application), then choose to close it down completely (no more avp.exe in taskmanager), Podium loads/unloads in a shot (faster than XT???)
I don’t know why this happens, maybe because Podium is a bigger dll linked to lots of other dlls which is what the AV programs look for?
Either way, the issue of load times is not with Podium, you just have to know your setup.

Not if the length of the arrangement is longer than your recording range. The curve events will still be set to the arrangement length, even if the note sequence is being gradually extended as you record. A tip for setting the length of a new arrangement with empty tracks: Add a marker event at the desired length.
Ah yes. I think I’m re-covering old ground here? Really gotta quit my day job so I can focus on Podium.

Yes that is how I always do it – I record as I play. Therefore I don’t (can’t) set the lane length in advance
I don’t get it tho, I just re-tested 2.09 and on my setup and the parameter event automatically extends beyond the midi track events and the controls do not drop to zero?
The curve events are set to the total length of the arrangement. You probably have some events on other tracks that extend beyond your recording range.
Okay yep …cool.
I’m guessing the ‘recording notes at the same time as automation’ is still an issue tho?
Would this be solved by pre-drawing the midi track event before recording the notes and automations?

Yeah and there is the added advantage that Podium automatically creates the parameter track for the controll that you are changing.

Threre you go Gary,
Let me know if this helps.

Meh …I try to be funny and you come back with better line 🙄 😆

I don’t remember discussing tabs at the top of the inspector. I do remember talk about making the panels in the inspector individually draggable, so that you could e.g. view both the device and preset list simultaneously.
Okay. I can’t rember why Track was put at the top? It does the least IMO and is the panel I’m least likey to need.
Not knocking the excellent Track coulour picker tho. 😉
I’m guessing it’s part of some bigger plan?

Like I said though, when I click on list all I see is folders on my HD (inc the Podium folder) but no list of objects (or project object browser) so how do I access those?
thanks
Project object browser can be access by clicking on the small round button on the project page (click again to get back).
edit: upper right-hand corner.
As for the list windows there are 2 panes. On the one on the far right, look for the drop down arrows. You can use the options in the drop down list to get to your projects folder.
Have a play ….you’ll see what I mean. 🙂
@aMUSEd wrote:
What’s this “object list”? There is a “list” at the top right but it just seems to link to folders on my HD, not other stuff. Can you store envelopes to use between different projects then?
Hey aMUSEd,
Yeah you can cut/copy most objects between Arrangements and Projects. The curve sequence is a little interesting in that they only appear (ever) as part of the .pod file and thus cannot be accessed via Windows Explorer or whatever.
Copying curve sequences between Arrangements is definately easier using the list panel (right-click copy, right-click paste), however I have come to prefer using the Project Object Browser to copy the curve sequences between Projects.
Note that you have to copy, then open a new project and then paste them into an arrangement.
Don’t let me oversell it 😉 it’s clunky-as but it works and is worth it if you have built up a decent curve library.
I’m building one up at present with some standard shapes and will share it when complete. However, based on the above, I’ll have to load a .pod file from which the curve sequences can be copied.
