I really want an easy sidechain but I voted ‘no’ because I don’t think that we must put pressure on Frits and his plans about Podium.
For me (and my needs) there is tons of things as:
-Easy configuration of drum rolls
-Option for right mouse button that allow erase&unselect piano roll notes
-Gui “fixes”: Mixer colours and sequencer track instrument menus
-Midi fx
-Clip stretching (audio/midi/curve)
-Lock piano roll scale, so you cannot add/move notes out of scale (very useful when you move a group of notes)
-Easy link for MIDI controllers
-Proper export to wav (+dither)
And I’m sure that other users have tons of requests also… so the best thing you can do is stick to his plan for podium, unless he ask ๐
best regards!
uhmmm I’ll try this afternoon
I’m in, thanks you Conquistador ๐

eh.. Where i can download this one? ๐
Forum –> Vip Lounge —> Download Podium Installer ๐
This is an important step in Podium evolution (i think it’s too soon although). I cannot test x64 version ๐ฅ in one or two years I hope do it
At the moment the regular version (32bits) works flawless, I don’t notice any significative CPU usage improvement.
Frits, I sold Gladiator2 because I was in crisis, if you have the NFR version 2.1, please, could you test if it works in this new Podium version (32bits)? (do you remember the presets problems with GUI resize?). I’m thinking into buy it again.

You guys really want to see the whole mixer strip, including controls colored? ๐
Well fair enough, I guess. But if it gets implemented, I’d really like to have the choice, like with ‘track header color opacity’.
That’s i wanted mean with this:
The mixer colors are killing my eyes! Podium could be beautiful if mixer colors where as sequencer’s tracks colors (semitransparent and full)
๐
I would say ‘yes’ because you always can pitch shift /timestretch in a external audio editor.
I think MFX is something important, but not critical (critical was the automation bug as example, imo)
This is important ๐

Remember to check out the sidechain tutorials on the wiki:
http://www.zynewave.com/wiki/doku.php?id=tutorials:indexThanks for this, however, its looks complicate
So, you prefer not to use the keyboard at all when editing notes?
Every extra mouse click, or every extra keyboard click kills your creative. Trust me. Currently there is too much features under different mouse menus or ctrl + XXX shortcuts. There is things which u can do much easier.
I totally agree with those two feature request. I know that the way we do the sidechain is very flexible, but very slow also… and this can kill our creativity.
The piano roll feature request (i hope don’t annoy you Frits, i say, and repeat this, with my best wishes for Podium) is critical. I can do everything with pencil tool, except unselect notes. It should be an option where right click could unselect all selected notes and if you right click on a note you delete it. Take a look to FL Studio demo piano roll.
I don’t want say that we have to clone another sequencers behaviours, only those good points that do “special and excellent” the workflow of them.

I’m curious, what exactly is it you don’t like about the mixer (directed at LiquidProj3ct as well), except from drag-and-drop?

Also, the name of mixer tracks is easily confused with a plugin name, so the name of mixer track should be highlighted.
Only small GUI changes, easy doesn’t it? ๐

However the bug of drums recording continues already…
There must be some MIDI loopback occurring. Podium will not record MIDI notes that it is playing, unless the receiving device sends back the same MIDI notes to Podium. What drum device are you using?
mmmmmmmh :-k that’s true…. i’m using Poise, should I contact to One Small Clue then?
Ok Frits, though it seems a little ugly ๐ I’ll survive.
However the bug of drums recording continues already… I cannot records drums with my pads due to this bug, I hope it will be easy to fix. I’ll quote myself:
Frits, I was just recording some tribal drums with a midi controller and I discovered a bad behaviour that I don’t see before (maybe I’m wrong).
Just draw a small drum sequence in sequencer, set a loop on it and record some random drums. If you allow that cursor do the loop (or if there is another phanton sequence) the new midi events that should be played will be recorded.
This is the final result, tons of midi notes superimposed:

Browsing different menus just slow’s down ur working. ๐
That’s my general idea +1
In overal, that mixer view needs improvents. Maybe add’ing that soft synth on different slot and keep those mixer slot for fx? Also you should make more clear viewing those slot you know. Example Cubase or FL Studio mixer. That kinda.
I agree, the mixer’s GUI needs a little of work (and colour as sequencer tracks)
– In piano roll, i would have just one and one wish! I dont want to change those pencil and select tool again and again, it takes too much time!
This is the best thing that could happens to Podium piano roll, see this topic: http://www.zynewave.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1863
– When i browsing my own samples.. Why the hell u have to double click to hear it? Pls change it to just one click. Its much faster browsing style.
I like the idea, it isn’t anything critical though (it’s more important drag’n’drop to vst plugins)
– And the last one, but the most wanted! Give us EASY SIDECHAIN!!! Same like in ableton? Its so damn easy. Just couple click and voilรก!
I’m agree also…
I’d say you’ve used FL Studio a lot (easy GUI, bad workflow though) ๐
Best regards
Fortunately I solved it pretty fast ๐ (i thought that I wouldn’t go back in 4-5 months). thanks guys!
I’m back ๐
