Indeed, this issue will keep coming up until resolved.
However, I believe Nucleum is perhaps a valid response to providing a more complete and rounded package that allows for a much needed ‘out of the box’ type functionality, with some funky demo songs.
Old and new fixes and features big and small must make a long list of tasks. I imagine it must be challenging for Frits to maintain order in prioritizing tasks, while also being flexible in addressing things as and when they are brought to light, hence the updates that not only address specific issues but also aim to generally refine the interface.
There appear several new features and improvements vying for top attention, and in a way I’m not too concerned which is being addressed, as most will probably be addressed in due course. But, here I agree with making this a priority, for reasons as stated in the above posts.
🙂
Same here, got lot’s of knobs and sliders waiting to be mapped to Podium’s controls.

It doesn’t look “Zynewaveish” enough!
……. give it more Zynewave vibe?JP
Agreed. It would be fortuitous to have the U.Interface as consistent as much as possible.
Would the parameters for this synth be available for automation?
Good one! Looking forward to hearing this. I’ve just been playing around with Hexter FM synth which does an excellent emulation of the DX engine.
Usually with FM synthesis, one can define some kind of algorithmic relationship between operators such as A+B+C or A*B+C etc, providing for more possibilities in sound shaping (Hexter has choice of 32 algos). Perhaps something like this is already in Nucleum? Just a thought.

Does this make sense? If not, I will try to explain it better. It’s such a small thing, but would help just a small bit in usability.
Yes it makes sense, I’ve wondered about this too. Would be a neat little improvement.
Superb update. Thanks.

What is the benefit of having the Monitor(Power) button, anyway? (I’ve just started demoing Podium)
Thanks,
Vitaly.
I find it useful for quickly resetting plugins that misbehave, as although Podium is quite good at keeping itself together when a plugin falls over, the monitor button is very handy for saving ones ears and speakers.
Also, as my PC is not the most up to date, the Monitor button is useful when I need to switch over to another application/process while keeping Podium open but off, which frees up considerable cpu depending on what vsts are loaded.
I think a particular set of MIDI plugins are essential for users/producers who focus primarily on obtaining their sounds by recording VSTi’s. I believe apps such as Live and FLStudio have done well because of robust support for creative MIDI mangling, amongst other features.
MIDI plugins will help to attract and retain both new and seasoned users.
I believe the ideas for Plugins mentioned in the above post form the main tools that are expected. Beyond these functions I can only request for a MIDI delay type plug, but that is not essential.
On a side note, a thread on KVR reveals a new MIDI scripting plug that may appeal to some here. Perhaps Frits may find it useful for developing and testing stuff. With MIDI plugin functionality and the VSTLUA plug I imagine just about any kind of filter or widget can be scripted.

Maybe a pop up window would be better.
Yes, good idea.
There is this Quickstart created by ScamArtist. Perhaps an up to date version of this Quickstart Guide could be placed in a pop up as well in a PDF document included with the download of both new demos and update releases. This may make a positive difference for the Podium beginner experience.
Thanks Swindus, ‘New Device Mapping’ did the trick 🙂
