I have had the same problem occur in the past, though infrequently. For the last year or two I’ve been able to render 2 hour files with no problem & I have no idea what changed. I do recall that real time rendering was a workaround, as mentioned above. Also, some plugins needed to have a new program saved prior to rendering.

Nice to receive praise as a discerning ear, levendis. 🙂

For all of the above, which i have not, & will not read in it’s entirety, Podium remains a pleasure to make music on. Get it? Make music. We’re not blaming our tools are we?

Hi. Just on the subject of plugins – since the last few Podium updates I’ve had a couple of plugins that have lost the ability to save presets at all, and thus lose the settings when I close the project. In particular, Kjearhus MPL-1 , and Ruction – I don’t know if it’s me or a bug so I thought I’d mention it. Cheers.

[editors… at the bottom because then they are closer to the editor/mixer/transport, which is the only part that is different in the default profiles. Less distance to move your mouse.]
Absolutley agree. The whole interface is largely customisable. It took me a while to fully appreciate how much so, but it seems that there is very little that can’t be designed to preference.
Oh, I think “Snapshot” is clear & succint,btw.[/quote]

Yes. I find that if I have, say, a couple of hours of material – music, or dialogue for example – arranged sequentially on the track page, that if I only want to render a few minutes starting at the 1 hour point, the render process seems to start from the very beginning of the timeline. I once had to edit 3 hours of a forum into individual speeches – you can imagine how long this process took. Is it possible to specify where the render begins and ends… or have I missed something?

I really like the wav browser on the right hand side – right eyed or whatever. It seems a little cluttered having the Inspectror and browser bunched together. Is it possible to add align right/left?
Beyond that the program keeps getting tighter all the time. [Still waiting on shuffle though ;)]

Hi. The cursor position used to display a mm:ss reading at the top of the screen, which I found really useful and referred to constantly. This appears to have been replaced with a % value relative to to event ends. Is the time option still available in preferences etc? Is it possible to make it an option?

P.S. Rinxai – I love the tree analogy!

Hi. Another Podium CM convert here. It’s got to be said, that when staring at a screen for 8-10 hours a day, the “serenity” factor of Podium’s beautiful UI is VERY important. The customising of course allows a multitude of visuals, but the relative lack of clutter is a breath of fresh air. However. It’s all about sound! My former DAW (Cubase) doesn’t faithfully reproduce sound internally e.g. bouncing MIDI to audio, and mastering drives me crazy because the mix of a track sounds vastly different in other apps. Having also tried Magix software, it seems a tad too open in the top end. Podium is to my (weary) ears the most neutral sounding app. It’s subjective of course, but in my younger live sound mixing days I could pinpoint (and name) a single note on an electric piano causing feedback. That combined with the modular approach really makes me think that Podium will in time be the DAW that other companies emulate. I too found a bit of a learning curve, but I believe it to be the “DAW of the future”. Cheers all.
