wouldn’t it be logical to have them show what is active? seems like a live view serves more purpose? thanks
Agree…
Something which will also be useful (for me at least), is a thin vertical line across the tracks at the begining of each marker (optional of course !).
And also, I admit that I don’t use the markers a lot because they are not very useful…
On the contrary, I used them a lot those in Vegas because :
(- there is a thin vertical bar)
– when you click on a marker the play head goes instantly to its position, eventually while continuing to play without any gap
– when you double click between two markers a corresponding time selection is made
Something like this in Podium will be nice 😉
Don’t you think that a sign placed together the project name in the title bar is better that a blink while saving ?
You always know its state, if it is saved or not.
Most softwares use an asterisk, or for those which have a toolbar it is often the color of the save icon.
Reaper shows [modified] in the title bar, it disapear when you save. It is clear and efficient…
hmmm… mistery… 🙄
I like it !
Yes, everything will be good.
Thanks.

Maybe the biggest addition to the group panel yet IMO. Fantastic.
I don’t see where or what is this.
Can you explain please ?
This change was made in release 1.79 (7 months ago):
My last project had all its processings made outside of Podium, so I’ve discovered the change recently.
No chance, my current one needs a lot of plugin automations 🙁
I may be able to come up with a more intelligent behaviour, but for now you have to place an effect plugin on it’s own track to record automation via the plugin editor UI. The next couple of releases will introduce more improvements to the track organization, which will make this an easier task.
I really hope that it will be as simple and efficient than before 1.79 😉
Thanks.
Yes there is a chance.
Good news 😉
OK, it works.
BUT : please, can you allow this to work like before ?
It was one of the things that was nice in Podium and didn’t need convoluted actions to work.
I don’t know what is the technical point behind this change, but for me it is out of logic if we can have a pluging inserted on an audio track and can automate its parameters by drawing an enveloppe, but need to create a sub track and put the audio files on it if we want to record the enveloppe with the GUI.
And another big drawback is that the waveform doesn’t appear under the enveloppes if the audio track if below them.
My guess is that your plugin is assigned to the track with the sound files?
You need to put the effect plugin on a separate group track.
Yes, I was doing like before.
It is a shame, if we need one more track when we want to automate a plugin, it is not really a workflow improvement !…
But I have just tried to put the wave file in a subtrack : there is always no sound.
What is wrong ???
There is also something funny when resizing the track inspector : the loop and selection bars are not refreshed and stay in place on screen until I click on and move them.
* Audio tracks no longer inherit the record mode of parent tracks. This change is made to allow automation recording on an effect plugin track without affecting playback of audio child tracks.
It is always not working for me : there is no sound from the track when I record the automation. 😥 😥 😥
Can you verify please ?
Thanks, I haven’t noticed it.
Oh thanks ! I thought I was going mad…
I am burning with impatience for the 1.94 !
Hi,
With this new support for control surfaces, is there a way to attach a MIDI CC to a mixer fader ?
I didn’t see how.
Hi,
You can use this little thing :
http://acousmodules.free.fr/fichiers/utilitaires/VSText.rar
It has fake audio IO because Podium doesn’t allow to import MIDI only plugins. Just don’t put audio files on the same track or below.
You can just input some text with no formating choices, but you can have 128 pages / presets. It is easy to drag program changes on a special track to synchronize the texts.
You will have to create first a MIDI Program change parameter for it because Podium doesn’t create it by default :
– insert the plugin on a track
– in Param / Devices click on the little menu button and choose “New MIDI Parameter” / “MIDI Program change”
– drag the parameter on the track to all the places you want
– select the patch numbers with the little dial for each one and edit the corresponding text
The text will change when the play line crosses a Program box and will remain until the next one.
