Thanks.
When I click on the link “2.42” down in the last post, it takes me to some older posts from march-april-may… What is with that? Are those the updates for the “not free” Podium at the respective time releases?
“Now, let me continue what has already become a very pleasant association with this Podium, a very impressively designed bit of recording software.”
Indeed.
That is the best aproach – be happy and creative, and enjoy working with Podium. No need to keep any sort of hard feeling for whatever from the past. The future sounds good, and you got back the joy of working. That only matters.
Keep close!
Hi Telenator,
I red the thread at Steinberg forum and tried to follow the discussion.
Not to put you down, but I think all of this is completely useless and nobody gain anything from such a discussion.
I understand you frustrations, but… The fact you found Podium should be enough and make you happy. “Teaching them a lesson” – I reffer to Cubase users – achieve nothing. What would that be?! “I’ve got a better girlfriend than you used to be?”
😉
So, just as I said before, Cubase a a great, stabile, complete DAW. Still is not for everybody, for various reasons. No use to try to convince people otherwise. Rather, explain when you can and when is helpful, how good Podium is. THAT will achieve something.
Goodluck!
Welcome!
Whil I agree with everything you said about Podium, totally, I am not so much against Cubase… Of course this is your story and expericence, and I don’t deny that. Still, Cubase is a very very serious and deep program, and I could do with it (an LE version) things that I couldn’t do with other DAWs at that level. I like it very much, but I hate the computer resources that Steinberg are waisting for their dongle protection system… That I hate and that is why I could not think of buying that piece of software. But as a DAW, Cubase rocks!
I wish Podium would offer the extend of possibilities that Cubase offers in MIDI department. O the Audio side, I prefer Podium to any other DAW, because of it’s very friendly interface. But for in-depth editing, there are still things that are missing. Take some from Cubase, Frits! 😉
Anyway. For one reason or another we are all here users of Podium, and I think that is simply great! Welcome to the community!
I tried many different actions, but I could not produce a track that will hold both the midi and the audio.
But I can work now with multiple midi tracks and corespondent audio tracks, from the outputs of Hypersonic.
So, you idea did give me a solution after all!
😉
Thank you!
Thank you !
I will give it a try, as soon as I get the chance.
Thanks!
😯 I hope not! 😉
Sorry about the double post earlier.
Please, just let me understand something, as it seems I didn’t get something very obvious to many…
What is the good of a DAW in a mobile format?
;(
Call me a dino, but I really fail to see the benefit of this. Don’t tell me you will create arrangements and mix songs on a 3,5-4 inches screen. Or that you’ll master the finished songs, or anything like this…
On the other hand, I couldn’t agree more with the fact that Podium has alot to catch up with the rest of DAWs. Being a very nice app, is still behind in many areas, and it’s really only the ease of use that keeps many of us around. Feature wise, there is still alot missing. We’re waiting to see it happening…
So, why do you need a mobile Podium?!

Very well done!
As you know, I am a fan! 😉
Looking forward for the next one!
Yes, Yes, No.

@ CymaticCreation
Thank you very much for these information. In fact, I downloaded LoopDrive but I am not very confortable working with it… Or maybe I just didn’t spend much time… I didn’t figure out how I can actually transform what I hear into a wave file, unless of course if I sort of render live produced sound…
I will give a try to the other options.
To be honest, I don’t care so much about the rex or rx2 files, but it just happenes that I have quite a bunch of them with my updated Sonar X1 LE, and I’d like to use the. Sonar – I really don’t like, just because it seems it uses a completely different command system than Podium, or Studio One for that matter… I don’t really want to learn yet another set of command from scratch.
@ Zynewave
Thank you for your reply. I am not disppointed at all. 😉 In fact, when Podium will introduce time-stretch, I’ll be totally over it! I have or can get enough regular wav loops, but I just need to be able to adjust them to various tempos. I can’t wait! But all in good time!
Thank you guys!
I can only suggest you try Podium on other computer and see how it works. Each machine is a very unique mixture of hardware and software, and it is possible, given the “right” mix that something goes wrong.
In my case, Podium is not lighter than Reaper, but it’s not heavier on CPU than Studio One or Cakewalk (X1 LE). I have some screenshots, but no means to post them here.
See what happenes.
🙂
Precisely!
In my case, I rarely use the loop recording. I don’t work like that. If I need to play something “live” and I have to redo – I repeat the rpocess. If i need to do a “layer” type – think drums – I simply draw it in the midi editor.
So, I guess it’s all about workflow. A sequencer without loop record is just fine to me.
