thanks for the help thcilnnahoj,
i probably removed the ‘punch in/out’ elements from my toolbar over a year ago, to save space !
they are back now, and when activated, punch recordings fine.
cheers.
Hi Frits
is the ‘render inside punch range’ not yet available,or am i missing something,
the option is there, but in faded text and the ‘alt+b’ doesn’t seem to work.
thanks.
Recording audio has been a problem for me since about ver.2.09 when i could use real time record.
its partly my fault by not learning each version thoroughly,
simple example;
drum vsti on midi track-i want to record a couple of bars in audio to reverse and process
well the realtime record doesnt seem to work and the bonce creates a long file i have to search for, finally find the audio segment in the editor, clone the clip, reverse it and its gone again, ive reversed the whole file and not the segment.
Ok its my problem,I should put more time into learning, but some things could be easier.
sorry Frits.
+1
I thought,a while ago, about having both pop up help and a pop up Manual,it would obviously take up more sceen space, but it’s easy to turn it on/off and easier to navigate than the pdf version.
not sure what it would do to the code size, but many of the entries could be copied and pasted from Frit’s explanations of new features posted here on the forum.
I dont know much about writing manuals, but would it remove the work involved in contents/chapter list ,page renumbering, indexing, deleting out of date manual entries etc?

I mean I enabled meters and faders on each individual track and set the tracks to “unhide” so all the meters were visible in the track view,I could then see where the clipping was occuring in the chain and adjust the faders to suit
clicking the mixer dots removed the meters in the track view.

Hi Frits,
whilst trying to pinpoint some clipping inside a series of effect tracks I enabled faders and meters on all, and set the tracks to “unhide”,I notice that subsequently clicking around the corresponding dot matrix in the mixer can delete the meters.

Hi,
there is a midi transpose option in the track properties tab, (properties-track properties). i suppose this would apply to all midi clips on the track, and may not be what you need.

Hi Technophobia
have you tried; project page, devices list, import hardware definition, generic monotimbral instrument, then set up the midi and audio from the options, label it MS6
once done, simply selecting MS6 as a source for a track should activate the midi and audio
i’m not sure if the prophecy is monotimbral, but i use a nord 3 as my controller, set to local off, and simply change the active midi channel as needed.

interesting post, ultragod,i had to read it twice just to be sure that my brain hadn’t fucked up.
🙄
not as interesting the second time though.
sorry Frits.
yes i could,
but looking soley at devices, im not always sure what i will need/do when i start something so i have been trying to create a project template that will cover most things for me.
looking for a balance between deleting too many entries from the devices list and keeping the input/source menus on the arrangenent page concise.
if i create an new project i have : 4 midi ins with 2 sub groups of 16 entries 24 items under audio inputs 7 hardware definitions and about 9 vsti and 30 vst effects.
i think my set up is pretty streamlined but if i leave the list in the devices tab intact then the menus on the arrangemnt page are ….not
a “hide devices” option in the devices tab and a hide option in the right click menu would sort this for me. and inputs or instument etc
could easily be “added” in the course of a project.
