Cheers for frits! 🙂
The new bounce features are working very nice here! Thanks a lot. I wasn’t able to find a real problem with beta3. Just one small inconsistency.
Let’s say we have a track with three effects. Bounce is set to offline mode and to the second effect. Pressing B renders the bounce track nicely and we are still able to play with the third effect (which is very cool). We now toggle bouncing to the third effect which removes the old bounce from the bounce track and disables playback. Pressing Ctrl+B will return the old bounce from fx number two and start its playback.
I think in this case the shortcut Ctrl+B should not be possible since the old bounce doesn’t correspond to the actual settings. This could lead to some confusion (like it did for me 🙂 )
bump 🙂
Hmm you are right. The project wizard suggests this. Mayb you can ask frits to accept this as a FR 🙂
It’s not a bug. It’s a feature! 😀
The folder and the device settings are global settings which means that they are not dependant on the project you choose. Just the device mappings are depending on the project. You can’t use your Virus driver for a special project in podium right know (nor is it possible in any other host i know). You have to switch the global driver settings.
I’m using podium with dual monitoring. One screen with an arrangement view and another one with the mixer.
look at your browser windows preferences. go to “view->editor profile properties” all elements you don’t need
It would be nice to have a quantization (start&end note) while recording midi. I think this feature should be as easy as it is and a global setting should be enough. Per track settings are a potential source for confusion and don’t add very much use cases.(I guess there are not much people recording multiple midi tracks at once).
For playback quantization, of which conquistador seems to be talking of, per track settings can be useful. Personally I don’t need playback quantization unless it is possible to apply the “global record quantization” afterwards to an object/event in case I forgot to activate it.
how about a tri-state button close to the snap button at the arrangement window? (with a combobox for the quantization values)
first click, green: only playback is globally quantized
second click, yellow: recorded and played notes are quantized
third click, red: only recorded notes are quantized
It’s not very important what I have to say but If you (frits) are really going to implement the “track wide mute” please consider that some plugins produce noise or constant signals. I guess the lane track is the track where the midi/audio stuff resides? In this case a noisy guitar amp would still be audible if the bottom track is muted.
Hmm I think this guy (it must be a guy since I’ve never seen a girl loosing control of herself in such a “clever” way) was looking for mp3directcut or ultra music maker extreme (2000 pro of course!) and was really sad that podium has no “generate-fancy-music-from-a-ripped-mp3”-button.
very nice! I really like the round sliders/faders. the screenshot looks very suitable as default layout.
you can!
just open a new browser window and edit the editor profile in that way that it only contains the mixer (or whatever you need)…you can move this browser window to the second monitor.
thats the way I use podium with two monitors.
Hmm I like all of them but I guess I would prefer the third one. Unfortunately I don’t like small gain fader/dial. Is it possible to combine the faders from your first example with the pan/sends from the last one?
Maybe it is a good idea to use the same styling for all UI elements, for example round faders with round send/pan etc. Although I like the tidiness of the first example how about a round fader between the meter channels?
I like the solid round buttons without the glass effect. they integrate pretty well with the rest of the ui. I’m not sure if I’m happy with the value displays.
Have you thought about solid faders with value? similar to the meters….just a rectangular area with a dragable “line” as fader. values could be printed into that area. the problem is that this one only works for horizontal faders.
hmmm just an idea.
