Interesting. What would be an example of an alternative input for a Bus Return (other than the Bus send)? Just curious… :-k
Also, in line with Lion’s question above, do you think that the default behavior on the bus sends should be to turn off/hide the gain slider? I find that the first thing I want to do with a bus each time is duck the original so that I can listen to the Return only (wet)?
It’s not difficult to turn it on (i use templates mostly anyway), it’s just, you have to know to do it.

Is it possible to increase that area a bit at either end of the note?
After playing with this I’d say +1.
The area just beyond the note event is where you instinctively attempt to grab it and at present the grab zone is a little skinny, and it seems biased the other way (over the note).

Correct. Small events ( I tend to have a lot of them) are difficult unless the zoom/pixel ratio is taken into consideration and/or the Wheel Zoom is active, in that case then is very fast.
Zoom in, work and zoom out.
Hi accordo, have you tried the CTRL+SHIFT+ALT (Zoom X + Y) and SHIFT + ALT (Grab X + Y) panning yet?
It may take a tiny bit of getting used to but the speed and control in the note editor is second to none. As stated in the past, I often find myself reaching for these keys in programs outside Podium …..I’m hooked.
You can also CTRL + SHIFT + ALT and Mouse wheel for an even X + Y Zoom in & out.

Like I said, this is the best I can do. If someone could shorten or cut
out any of these steps, I’d be glad to hear your suggestions. 🙂
ALT+B for “Render within punch range” Should save a couple of seconds 😛
I do agree with your point about the Master Bounce.wav title. A bounced master track could include the arrangement name by default. Then perhaps there wouldn’t be a need to edit it.
Also, it would be pretty handy if the bounced punch range would auto-crop. Got to agree on that one too.
Remember you have to turn on the Power button (next to transport buttons) to load the plug-in and hence see the presets.
That’s quite a feature request 🙂
I’d be happy to have native midi routing between plug-ins and then maybe just find a VST that could act at a sequencer/arp.
I know SugarBytes and Ugo (Dualism) have some pretty powerful midi tools. I’m sure there are many others.
edit: Yes I currently use Energy XT for this but….
Like the eh-chem …colour scheme 😉
Sweet release 8) thanks Frits.
Lovin the changes here….

Seems the time is right now? – all new PC’s seem to be sold with Win 7 these days, many 64 bit.
I agree. I finally moved away from XP after my last disk-crash. Win7 64-bit has proved to be completely viable as my audio device has a 64-bit driver.
Where are all those touch-screen devices anyway ….seems to be rolling pretty slowly IMO (No …not counting iPad).
HP have a thing called Slate on the way as do many others:

Maybe these things will kill off netbooks and herald in the ‘touch’ age?
Hi all,
Interesting behaviour eh?
@Georg
I’m no expert but my understanding is that the activation (challenge response) probably relies on a combination of the registry, the dll and a date-stamped file deposited somewhere on your system.
As long as you don’t delete the dlls you shouldn’t have to re-activate.

Are any of these mappings mono/stereo only?
If Independence FX reports that it supports various surround configurations, but not simple stereo in/out, then that can explain why Podium won’t import the plugin into a stereo project.
No but that doesn’t seem to be causing any problems here.
The mappings are as follows:
>Mono to Surround (5.0, 5.1 etc)
>Stereo to Surround
>Surround to stereo and,
>Surround to Surround

You can try to manually set up an insert mapping for the “Independence FX.dll” using the Devices list on the start page: Use the “New Copy” right-click menu on the insert mapping for “Independence Pro”. Open the properties dialog for the new mapping. Rename the mapping with “FX”. Replace the plugin path with the path for the FX dll version. Deselect the “device is instrument” option. Select Stereo as both input and output.
I just imported the two .dlls separately. They are located in different folders on the hard drive tho :-k
Hi Georg,
I was able to import the plug-in into Podium (Independence FX.dll). The only odd thing I noticed is that it asked me for the Yellow tool root folder twice 😕
Note that I’m running 64-bit Win7 but installed the 32-bit version of the plug-in using compatibility mode.
@Frits, this plug-in loads 12 instances into the Podium devices list that cover a range of input – output options (eg. mono/stereo/surround in, stereo/surround Out).
